Minnesota vs. Missouri

"This has to be a dream matchup for Minnesota running back David Cobb, who will undoubtedly watch film of fellow Big Tenner Tevin Coleman shred the Missouri defense. He might be the only advantage the Gophers have in the matchup because Missouri’s defensive front should be able to limit quarterback Mitch Leidner. It’s just a matter of whether Missouri’s offense decides to show up and make this a competitive game."

11 – CITRUS BOWL: MINNESOTA VS. MISSOURI – January 1st, 1 PM ET, ABC

First of all, the Citrus Bowl gets its name back after being the Capital One Bowl for several (far too many) years. Second, Minnesota and Missouri both overachieved and are extremely well-coached. Jerry Kill and Gary Pinkel have been terrific in each of the past two seasons. This is a sneaky-good game.

The Gophers and Tigers put together nice seasons, but it never really seemed like they were as good as the elite teams in their respective conferences. Still, it's a matchup of two of the sport's more underrated coaches -- Missouri's Gary Pinkel and Minnesota's Jerry Kill. It's the Gophers' first trip to a New Year's Day bowl game since beating UCLA 21-3 in the 1962 Rose Bowl. Minnesota also will try to end a six-game losing streak in bowl games.
