Did you see Cignetti’s comments as he left the field about the non calls from the refs?

I was disappointed and surprised the talking heads didn’t mention it during the half time discussion. Cowards? I thought Saban would bring it up at least, after all he doesn’t have to deal with the refs any longer. Will Cignetti be reprimanded for calling them out that way? I thought there was an unwritten rule that you can’t call out the refs like that. There were a lot of non calls in that game that could have been flagged.

Glad they won, Gophers turn next.

I know in the pros you'll get fined. But since this isn't an NCAA sponsored event, who would fine him?

As a Gopher fan, I'm hoping for an "All Things Cignetti to the Baltimore Ravens" thread.
He has said he has no NFL interest but he was asked the question before the NC game so of course he isn't going to say anything that would make people nervous about him leaving before the game :)

How much do NFL coaches make? Cignetti made over $14 mil this year I think I read. Is the NFL really more lucrative?
The average HC salary is around $7M but over half in the NFL make $10M or more. Andy Reid tops the list at $20M per year.

I would have to think that the lifestyle and overall work experience for a HC in the NFL is significantly better when you factor in the new college football environment, year-round recruiting and high roster turnover.

KOC reportedly makes around $14 mil. But everyone seems to think NFL coaching is less work so there's that.

My uncle was an offensive coordinator in the NFL for a few years. Grueling hours but it’s just football. None of the nonsense.

His wife was the breadwinner and they dont have kids so it worked for them.

Did he talk Gopher football with you as to the play calling?

We’ve discussed football plenty but he isn’t local to
MN and never has been. He did not care for Tim Brewster enough to where he told my dad “that is terrible hire” so he nailed that ole.

He lived that football coach life. 5 college jobs, 3ish years each, spanning east coast to west. 20 years in the nfl for various teams and various roles.

It’s a grind. He loved it but retired when he was around 60.

The helmet to the chin absolutely should have been called - and the player ejected. Reminiscent of New Orleans trying to injure opposing players.
