Chris Monter Q&A: WR Derrick Engel Makes Transfer to Minnesota Official

Derrick Engel, a 6-foot-2, 177-pound wide receiver from Winona State, made it official that he is transferring to Minnesota. Engel, who was an All-Northern Sun Conference selection this past season, will sit out the 2011 year and have two seasons of eligibility remaining. GopherHole.com talked to Engel Saturday afternoon in an exclusive interview.

I think he can help as well, but if he can gain 15 lbs andnot lose speed, he can help more. 177 is a little light if he is not a burner.

Cornerback

It would be nice if we could get him to play cornerback. His signature talent seems to be leaping ability. He is the same height as Willie Middlebrooks. You all can start yelling at me now.
