Jonah Pirsig, a 6-foot-9, 285-pound junior left tackle/defensive end from Blue Earth (MN) High, visited Minnesota Tuesday and attended the Golden Gopher-Michigan State game that night. Pirsig has already attracted four Big Ten offers and could end up the state’s most highly recruited player from the Class of 2012. GopherHole.com caught up with Pirsig Wednesday night to learn the latest on his Minnesota visit.

Good work Chris! Stay home Jonah, don't be fooled by the bright lights, everything you need to get to the next level is right here. Only at the U can you be one of "the guys" who stays home and decides to take this thing to the next level. Get on board, Go Gophers!

That interview actually made me feel like we really have a chance. Get em Killer.

As I stated in another post...really liked seeing the props he gave Shannon Schonrock in the Q and A. I would hope Shannon might be a positive Uof M influence on Jonah and his family as he ponders his football future. Shannon had a really good BB career at the Uof M....Hopefully the Women's BB program can find a leader type like Coach Kill...don't think they have that now.

Great interview Chris. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Pirsig seems to be a great kid with a good head on his shoulders who is keeping this all in perspective. He certainly would be a great addition to the 2012 class and hopefully Kill can convince him that the U is the place for him academically and athletically. I was really impressed that Pirsig mentioned the academic angle a couple of times.

Problem with the personnel trainer in Fairmont, is that he is a great guy, but a Hawkeye season ticket holder.

Exactly what I was thinking....in the words of the great Jim Carrey, "So you're tellin' me there's a chance".

Mr. Vonbank does great work with lots of kids in the area. Best believe he's talking with Jonah a lot about going to Iowa.

Did the trainer play any sport at Iowa? If he did wouldn't that be a recruiting violaton? Yes it would.

Iowa troll, go back to your hell hole. Thanks

True. He is also a season ticket holder, which makes him a booster. So even a suggestion Persig should go to Iowa would be a technical violation. Although, I think that portion of the rule is wrong to have in place, it's still there.

I guess he just got an offer from "National Champion (Vacted 2014)" Auburn and U$C is going to offer as well. We should check and see if he got a new ipod as well.

Blue Earth Area (MN) OT Jonah Pirsig is straight blowin' up with offers. Just got one from Auburn, expect USC to offer soon too #Gophers- MVofDT

Like I said in the last Pirsig thread - "buh-bye".

He's turning into Seantrel. Would be awesome if Kill could do what Brewster couldn't and keep the stud in state LT. I'd say we have about a 5% chance now that all of the big schools are starting to offer. But maybe he'll be the first guy with a bunch of big school offers to stay home, would be nice.

Would be a very surprising pick-up for the gophers. I'm not sure we've ever landed a local getting this much attention. I just don't get a good feeling when they visit, and then continue to look. Have we ever had a local that visited, not committed, blew up nationally, then decide to stay home? Always seems like they see the grass being greener on the other side of the fence.
