Chris Monter: Gophers hoping to land big committments

chris, good article. What do you think the odds are that we get one or both of these guys (Welch/Brooks)?

edit: I see it wasn't chris that posted the link; the question still stands if chris sees this thread :)

Thanks again for the link, Bleed. Additional thanks to Chris Monter for his FSN reports and his contributions to the GopherHole.

1/4 to get neither, 1/4 to get both, 1/2 to get one or the other. (Theoretical Probabilies}. Experimental Probability will be determined after the fact.

I think we only have one scholarship in hand at this point.

As always, I could be wrong.

I get the feeling Tubby's getting vibes that he's gonna have two scholarships to give after the season, whether it's Trevor or someone else and he wants to have a backup plan this time in the event that happens.

But yeah, my understanding is they can't get both right now though, they only have one scholarship at the moment to hand out.

I asked this before, can we offer one of these guys an academic scholly?

No. Every school in every major sport would do this then. If you play D1 athletics and receive a scholarship, it must be an athletic scholarship.

We have one official scholarship open, but the staff will recruit as if we'll have at least one more if not two open up, which has been the pattern the last few years.

Thanks BleedGopher. I only thought of this when I saw that the kid from GA has a 3.9 GPA.
