Chip Armelin - Best Freshman?

Why do I get the feeling you're going to post your full resume for everyone to see again?

I was in the insurance business for 35 years and fot would be fired in about 2 minutes if his bosses had a clue how much time he wastes. By the way which insurance company do you work for?

i can buy it, i dont get why people are so concerned that he might be the best because of how many stars he may or may not have. i mean tom brady wasnt exactly being rushed off the board on draft day was he? and he worked out pretty well right? scouting is never perfect

Armelin may have been overlooked. He'll get a chance to show if he was (or not).

Great athlete who can score...yeah, of course there's potential there. Any great athlete who can put the ball in the basket, and prides himself on playing defense will always have a spot on a roster. Whether he gets coached up to his fullest remains to be seen, but I'm very intrigued by this kid. Coming from football, you know the toughness is probably there, so it's probably more about just coaching him on the nuances of the game.

Serious answer to your question.

I work 10-12 hrs per weekday and 2-3 hrs per weekend day for about 60 hrs per week.

5-6 AM (from home), 8 AM-5 PM (office), and 7-10 PM (from home) most weekdays.

Unlike insurance in your day (9 AM to 4 PM with 2 hr lunches), insurance is a global business, 24/7 nowadays.

Like my colleagues, we're only a Blackberry away from our work around the clock.

I received the highest awards given by my company and 2 professional societies. I don't necessarily deserve them (as much as others) but I'm grateful for the recognition.

I manage the work of 60 technical reps throughout N America and also the work of 3rd party vendor worldwide. I also review annually the 250 (or so) largest facilities we insure.

Points well taken. Football (for him) was a Sr year experiment. He was (and is) primarily a basketball player.

I wonder what that equates to in terms of compensation...

As for Chip... I'm not sure where the idea that he is some defensive stud came from? Keep seeing people infer or state that on here...

My company is very generous on compensation. With bonus, $115K to $120K range. Pays the bills.

You really like to pat yourself on the back, don't you?

FOT's posts usually seem to be a mite defensive, either of Tubby's reputation or his own. FOT it's great that you make such a nice living. But to be absolutely honest, I was hoping to read a little more about Armelin, and a little less about the demands and salary structure of the insurance industry. Just don't let the mean boys get to you, okay chum?

I try to answer ? someone asked with facts. Believe me, it's all gone every 15th and 30th just like anybody else.

Haha, you were right... just not quite the resume you were talking about I guess.

Haha I was wondering if anyone would comment on that. I was half joking when I said that, but I can't say I'm surprised that he actually sort of did it. Any opportunity to pat himself on the back and feel superior over his fellow anonymous posters on a team's site that he isn't even a fan of.

I answered the ? asked. I didn't bring it up. The guy in the cubicle in the next aisle makes > $150K for doing similar work but he works more like 70 hrs a week. The company is generous indeed.

I feel superior over no one. I answered his/her/its freaking ? period.

You missed the point. The other poster insinuated that I screw off all day long. I don't.

No, I didn't miss the point, I just don't give a sh**. I find it childish that you feel the need to pat yourself on the back so much and disguise it as an answer to someone's question. For example, when GW asked how much you make, he was being sarcastic. Also, the word creepy has nothing to do with how much you think you know. These were just both examples of you trying to show off to people who don't give a flying you-know-what.

The he/she/it should add "dws" to his/her/its post.

I answered the ? that was asked.
