Chelsea Dagger vs The Rouser

Zulgad is touting the idea that we use the song Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis after touchdowns because Fleck used it at WMU. What do you say?

At WMU he did a lot of that stuff to create tradition that didn't exist / atmosphere that wasn't there. We have some stuff that works already.

I don't expect him to copy and paste.

I don't know about that, but I've always been an advocate for a really loud air siren, like Washington & Oregon. One loud enough that it will wake up everyone from St. Anthony over to Midway....

U of M ROTC firing off a Civil War cannon would be cool, then the Rouser. The former cannon guy fired off a Yacht Cannon.

This is a terrible idea. The Blackhawks use this song. Celtic FC uses it. UND hockey uses it. I'm sure there others.

Adopting a tradition that has already been adopted by other sports teams is the worst. That's why I hate Kraftwerk and Seven Nation Army, although I like Seven Nation Army as a song.

One of the appeals of college sports is the unique atmosphere at each stadium. This is one step away from uniqueness.
