Charley Walters: Ex-Gophers coach Mason says U can win Big Ten West title

Every place he goes, Glen Mason was saying the other day, he gets asked about Big Ten football and the Gophers.

"I think the Gophers should be good," Mason said. "Jerry Kill is doing a heck of a job."

Kill is the Gophers coach. Mason used to coach the Gophers. Now, Mason is back for another football season as an astute analyst for the Big Ten Network.

"They should have a tough opener with (No. 2-ranked) TCU," Mason said. "But I always thought that if you're going to play somebody who is really good, play them early in the year. Just like Ohio State with Virginia Tech last year."

Yes. My post was clearly tongue in cheek as I was not a Mason, the coach, fan by the end, but I agree 100% with your post.
