Championship Weekend: Discussion Thread

Please re-read my statement and pay particular attention to the text in bold. Thanks in advance...

You realize top programs have multiple "tOSU level recruits", right? Most 3rd and even 4th string QB's at top programs have better offers than middle of the road programs.

Looks like two teams are going to be pissed tomorrow. There should be no arguments with Alabama, Oregon, and FSU. Going to be a lot of controversy no matter who they pick for the 4th spot.

Huskers beat writer in Lincoln says he expects the Outback and Holiday to decide between Wisconsin and Minnesota, with Nebraska going to San Francisco or Nashville.

So at the end of the day, nothing will change. Alabama, Oregon, TCU and FSU. Only thing up in the air is the matchups

I am not even going to try to reason with you. You agree that our QB play MUST be better, we will leave it at that.

I was in the TCU camp...until today. I think Ohio State actually deserves the 4th spot.

Love it, Ohio State running trick plays up 45-0. Keep it up.

Today was pretty much the committee's worst nightmare, right? Everybody at that top did what they were supposed to do, barring a miracle in Charlotte.

TCU, OSU, Baylor. Pick one....

I say TCU. OSU is on their 3rd QB and lost to a horrible team. Baylor played nobody. To me, TCU looks the best as of now. The committee is supposed to wade through the muck and determine who the best 4 teams are.

I guess Ohio St. just tries to keep scoring to impress the committee.

Agree, nothing should change based on today's results. That being said, I think Ohio State is better than FSU, and I still don't understand how Baylor beats TCU and doesn't get in over TCU.

OSU is in

Tough for TCU and Baylor, but they will be (and should be) left out. OSU is in as #4. Outright and undefeated conference champion trumps co-champions, + OSU's resume is at very worst equal to TCU and Baylor. What the bowl committee chairman will emphasize is that OSU's 3 best wins came away from home. ... MSU, Wisconsin, and Gophers. That is significant. More than makes up for ugly loss to Va Tech.

They're probably wishing the computers were still deciding. Imagine if it was still the BCS. Who would be playing in the National Championship this year? They sure picked a good year to go to a playoff.

Need to go to 8. 4 Major bowls are the quarterfinals. Funny how everytime the NCAA tries to change, BCS, playoff, etc. it blows up in their face

i think I agree with this. Sorry Big 12.

Very impressed with Ohio State tonight and think they played their way in to the top 4. My top 4 would be 1.Oregon 2.Alabama 3.Florida State 4.Ohio State.

It'll be the same four as last week. Alabama, Oregon, TCU, FSU. No team did anything this week to move them out of the playoff, regardless of the other games.

Watching FSU, I feel like they're going to get piped in their first game, regardless of if they play Bama or Oregon (given they stay at 4)

Tough luck for either OSU or TCU. Could both beat Florida State any given night? I think they could.

But does Florida State deserve to be in? Yes they do.

Even if they go to 3 they'll play one of those. I agree, FSU gets clownstomped in the semis.

I feel like either OSU or TCU would beat them 7/10 times or more.

Wisconsin's O-line is really getting schooled tonight.
