...let's get the Barn even louder than the MSU game! I like how the energy from the student section is spilling over into other parts of the stadium... it's nice to see some of the 40 year olds in the audience being just as energetic and rowdy. Hope we keep it up for tomorrow's important early season game against Michigan!

Agreed! How about an atmosphere where fans sitting down is an exception. Being a fan at the barn Is your gym membership.

Yes! For the love of God, people in the middle of the court STAND UP when the situation calls for it.

(And that doesn't mean stand up only when you have to leave for a bathroom break, or when the band plays the rouser).

Not this again

The student crowd sucks.

No, the blue hairs suck.

Well you guys suck more.

No, you guys suck more.

Rinse, cycle, repeat.

For those going to the game, however it is you prefer to cheer on the Gophers, no matter your age, do it to the best of your ability.

And remember. Standing means your mouth is 18 inches higher, which means you are twice as loud...

It's all on the Student section. They need to be the leaders of the rowdiness/loudness and hopefully the old people will at least cheer/be loud.

They'll be rockin. 100 tickets away from a sell out. They'll be gone by the end of today.

...just make sure to do it on your feet.

I really wish I could go to this game. I was at the MSU game in the student section and it was a lot of fun. The student section will do their job you don't have to worry about them being loud. It's the 40+ fans that have to get loud. I look at how loud it gets at other arenas where everyone is up and shouting. We need that. Don't just rely on the student section to get loud. I want to see someone who's 60+ leading a cheer :)

Solution: everyone stop sucking and start screaming.

Good!! This is my first Big10 game this year and I am incredibly pumped. Biggets home game since when???

Per the Gopher Sports twitter account, all tickets are now sold out.

@GopherSports
UPDATE: All @GopherBBall ticket for tomorrow night's game (public & students) are SOLD OUT! The Barn will be a full house! #Gophers

Really, anybody at the game that sits like a lump of coal should be gracefully escorted out. If you're old and sickly and can't stand the strain, adrenilan, pressure, whatever. Give your tickets to your siblings or somebody that will standup and cheer, cuss, scream, stamp their feet etc.

I am amazed at how many posts on yelling, sucking, cheering, and screaming there are. Whatever you prefer just be as loud as you can; for the old times, the students to know how the barn rocks, the elders to feel young, for the future of Gopher basketball, and everyone who didn't get a ticket because its SOLD OUT. A golden moment in time, go Gophers.

Saw this in the comments of an ESPN Article:

Minnesota's Williams Arena (the barn) is unreal. I am a former student manager at MSU and if they're on a run and you call timeout, you literally cannot hear someone screaming right next to you. You can feel the pressure on your body, it's unreal.
