CBS has Gophs in as a #3 seed in Utah

It's early, but interesting to see South Dakota State as one of the "first 4 out."

I would not complain as they would be playing at the Huntsman Center, which is about 2 blocks from where I work...I would have to host some serious parties for Gopherholers! :) Even Doc!

I saw a predictive bracket (as opposed to most, which are purely results-based to this point), which thought we'd end as a 4 seed. Must be the pessimist in me, but I'd take the "under" (as in, higher) than that.... I bet we'll end up in the 6-8 range, mostly because I'm picturing a 10-8 BT Season.

With the new pod system is it more likely for teams to stay closer to home?

The Gophers could possibly get to the final four with that draw!

Unfortunately that won't stick. Arizona as a 1 seed? Yeah right. Missouri will be a solid high seeded team though.

As much as possible, the selection committee attempts to protect the top 4 seeds (teams 1-16). For example, barring epic unexpected collapses Kansas will play in Kansas City the first two rounds (I beg your pardon, in the "2nd" and "3rd" rounds) and Michigan and/or Michigan State will play in Auburn Hills.

I doubt the committee would reward Minnesota with a trip to Salt Lake to play Utah State....That would be a home game for them with Logan being an hour up the road and many "State" grads living in Salt Lake. The Huntsman Center would be rocking. Shades of Gonzaga in Seattle. Even worse.

To hold a three seed, what do you think the Gophs have to do in the B10? 10-8 wont get them a 3, it would probably get them a 5 or 6 I would think?
12-6 get them a 3 seed? That would put them at 24-7 overall I would guess that might do it, I suppose it would also depend on what they do in the B10 tournament as well...

They'll have to finish 3rd maybe 4th to get a 3 seed

12-6 and finishing in the Big Tourney Semi or Final will get us a 2 seed.
