For the first time in the 2015 season, Ohio State is not the No. 1 team in the CBS Sports 128. The Buckeyes have seen teams like Utah and Baylor close the gap on No. 1 in the polls, and in our survey of CBS Sports college football writers and experts, both teams have jumped ahead of the Buckeyes.

Utah is the new No. 1 in our rankings, followed by Baylor, Clemson and then Ohio State. TCU, No. 5 a week ago, rounds out the top five of the polls after a second-half comeback at Kansas State kept the Frogs perfect in Big 12 play.

Go Gophers!!

Makes sense. I think most people's top 5 is a mix of those five teams in some order, and I haven't seen enough from Ohio State to make them a clear-cut #1. Maybe not #4 but it's tough to give them credit when they haven't played anyone of note to date. That'll change - they get 5-1 Penn State this weekend - but to date, just a mediocre VT, iffy Indiana and poor Maryland as their P5 competition. Took care of those teams but let them all hang around longer than they should've.

The interesting one in the B1G to me is Michigan State, a lot of people high on them after beating Oregon but the Ducks aren't up to their standards this year. That leaves MSU with exactly zero great wins, and wins by 3, 3 and 7 over P5 competition to date (teams that are a combined 6-11 on the year). They have a chance to show it's all all right this weekend, but so far they have been extremely underwhelming given the level of competition they're playing.
