Bad Iowa State is good for Minnesota.

Bang heads with them in recruiting quite a bit. The Hasert kid from Marshall last year was one.

Took MJ Anderson via portal last year.

I'm convinced that any kid on any high school roster in the upper Midwest has been offered by Iowa State. Any kid.

Finishing last in the B12 in year seven isn't much slack as he was likely forced to fire guys.
 


Wonder if any Iowa NIL money will flow to Iowa State rather than to the Hawkeyes? Pretty doubtful huh?
 

Somehow I doubt that the strength & conditioning guy was to blame? But OK!

Only positive about them being good is that it hurts Iowa too.
 

Kinda crazy: Campbell could have jumped to several bigger paydays after the 9-3 year.
But that and two other 8 win seasons is all he has. PJ has had way more splash seasons but Campbell was the courted darling. Hmmm

This is why Louisville guy bolted to Cincinati. Bought himself a paycheck for more years.

QB at Illinois, during the late Brewster/early Kill eras.

Has been working his way up the offensive staff at Iowa State since 2018.

That's right. If you're intent on going somewhere else at some point, then you have to go when you're hot.

Politics, job promotion, etc. Always go when you're hot even if you don't personally feel ready. Wait too long, then someone else comes up behind you, performance dips a little, etc, and then you miss out.
 

They ran out of offense this year. Had a really good defense. Quite similar to Iowa, coincidentally.
 

With the move, Campbell also announced offensive line coach Jeff Meyers will not return.
