Cam Ward sets NCAA D-I mark with 156th TD pass in Miami loss

It would be a very different story if he just pulled himself with no noticeI’ve seen a lot of outrage about this online, but it seems like a non-story to me. It’s very likely the entire staff and team knew this would happen and was glad to have him out there at all.
Almost…If you didn’t say the same thing when Mo Ibrahim did almost the same exact thing I’m not sure you should criticize here
No, wait, that was Shadeur SandersHis O line was a sieve and he was scrambling for his life the whole first half.
That was because of the field conditions being so bad.If you didn’t say the same thing when Mo Ibrahim did almost the same exact thing I’m not sure you should criticize here
Was it? I thought Mo was going for a specific record. TD??That was because of the field conditions being so bad.
With Ward, if this was agreed upon ahead of time then I don’t see a problem with it. If it was something unexpected then it’s kinda ridiculous IMO.

Guessing this is some fan written piece that is really misleading. Making it seem like the player quit on the team or someone got in his ear.....as opposed to what it most likely really was which was planned ahead of time.![]()
2025 NFL draft: Top QB prospects quits at halftime, team loses bowl game
We've heard of college football players opting out of bowl games to not risk injury and prepare for the NFL draft but this is the first time we've seen a player quit at halftime. This is the situation the University of Miami found themselves in when starting quarterback…sports.yahoo.com
You might be right. I thought it was related to the field conditions. Was it? I thought Mo was going for a specific record. TD??
Once he got it, he was pulled.

Yep, Ward set the passing TD record in the first half and didn't play in the second. According to the coach it was planned, he didn't quit on his team the way some of the stories want to make it out to be.Mo passed DT (4,654) to become the Gophers All Time Rushing Leader with 4,668 yds.
Once he had that he was pulled. Field conditions had zero to do with it, IMO.
People say it was exciting football but watching that first half was painful for anyone who appreciates defense, like we do in the former Big Ten West.Regardless of whether or not it was planned, it isn't Ward's fault that Miami's defense gave up 42 points.
Did the Miami coach actually say that? The post-game interview I saw he said "all of those discussions that happened before the game will be kept in-house" or something like that. I'm just curious if he later did acknowledge it. I think it's unfair to criticize Ward either way....Yep, Ward set the passing TD record in the first half and didn't play in the second. Haven't followed all the ins and outs of this but from what I have seen it wasn't a case of the player quitting on his team the way some outlets are trying to make it out to be.Did the Miami coach actually say that? Really is too bad that a guy's image can be tarnished due to bad reporting.Haven't followed all the ins and outs of this but from what I have seen it wasn't a case of the player quitting on his team the way some outlets are trying to make it out to be.
