BTN's Tom Dienhart: Super-early predicted order of finish for 2015-16 B1G (MN #11)

My favorite part of the BTN preview was "big man" Joey King. I'm not knocking King - I think he gets a lot out of his raw ability - just amused to see him listed as a big man. He may be listed as a PF, but he plays more like a SF - which Dienhart would know if he ever watched a Gopher game.

It will get easier for you over time.

So you honestly believe that the absolute best case scenario for the following lineup is a 10th place finish in the conference?

PG: Dorsey
SG: Mason
SF: Morris
PF: King
C: Konate

Yeah, I don't buy that.

Curious as to where you think the absolute best case scenario is with that crew?

To get into the bubble conversation, Coach P. and staff had to do 2 things. Get Martin into position to beat out Joey or at least split time. Have Lofton beat out Morris at the 3 or at least be our go to man.

Did you mean to say Martin there? He left the team.

Who the spring guys are will determine a huge part of the future of the next two years. Warm bodies and the outlook is not good.
Recruit 3 spring guys who over achieve as a group and we are all of sudden a team others are worried about playing.

Lofton was never going to beat out Morris. He was almost always going to play the two plus Morris is a good player. His absence has been easier to swallow as I had predicted him to have the type of production that we are expecting Nate Mason to have next year. Didn't think he would average 10 a game as a true frosh. Thought Dorsey would beat him out when he committed. And frankly I'm now fine with Joey starting next year. His offense is lightyears ahead of where it was two years ago IMO and I can now live through his defensive liabilities.

I would consider finishing 8th next year to be less of a surprise than finishing 11th was this year.

If all goes right, this team should be on the bubble. If it doesn't collapse, it should be a solid NIT team. This team will have more talent and fit Pitino's system much better than last year's team, but it will be extremely young.

Pretty much my views.
