3. Minnesota. The pass rush needs to be amped up, as the Gophers notched just 22 sacks in 2015. That was 91st in the nation. And top rusher Theiren Cockran is gone. The tackles look good. Junior Steve Richardson is a walking fire hydrant. JC Merrick Jackson will help vs. the run. Junior Andrew Stelter, sophomore Gary Moore and senior Yoshoub Timms also work inside. Senior Hendrick Ekpe is an underrated end. Junior Gaelin Elmore was a tackle last year but has flipped outside. Jeff Phelps is a good line coach.

Aside from guys who got some here and there... I feel like our awesome defence has largely been awesome backfield and a line that does alright against the run but direct pressure not so much. Granted some might be due to talent and strategy but it would be nice to see more action back there.

I am surprised that we are ahead of Northwestern. I really hope Elmore or someone can provide the pass rush we are missing. With the back end of D being unproven a good pass rush would help a lot

It will be interesting to see how the coaches use Julian Huff this year. He seems to have pass-rush instincts. It would nice if he was just a little bigger, but he can be a productive situational rusher.
