BTN All Conference Picks

You're comment would have been relevant to the topic at hand, until you felt the need to add the second part (Bolded). Pointing out how many players Wisconsin had all BT is fine. Throwing in a little snark comment after it is the issue and continuing to bring up comments made almost two years ago over and over and over and over and over again in places where they make little sense is just dumb.

Would a formal written statement from all Gopher fans admitting that we were incorrect in a thread on a message board from nearly two years ago help you to calm down and stop bringing it up at every chance you get?

That is a good question. If it was written by the guy who disappeared, can't think of his name, I would have to consider it. :)

Given what was being said at the time, it was really hard not to throw the last "snarky" comment in.

Awards such as these are usually given out to the teams that have had the most success this year. It is not about coaches as much as it is about players having a good year. Look at all the viking players in the pro bowl last year. Does anyone expert them to go this year? So if your point was to say look at us this year and we are the greatest team in the history of the big ten well, this is a Gopher board and we do not care about your team. If you want to talk to someone who does head out to a bar in WI.

McKnight should have gotten some recognition, but this is what happens when you finish near the bottom of the conference. Kerrigan is a notable exception, but he's been hyped all season (and he is good).

The first thing I noticed about the awards was how the coaches voted. Did anyone else notice...
1st team QB - Dan Persa;
2nd Team QB - Scott Tolzien;
Offensive Player of the Year - Denard Robinson?????

I don't disagree at all about Robinson being the Offensive POY, but how can he not then, by default, be the 1st team QB???

Really? I think going to the rose bowl kind of disproves him being a bad coach.

It's fine to hate Wisconsin, but to act like they don't have a good football program right now and a good coach is just dumb. While he appears to be a prick in some ways, he is a very good football coach. Just as much as I hate Bo Ryan, he is still a good basketball coach.

And we were wrong, Bielema has proven that he is a better coach than Brewster. I am not sure who the better recruiter is or anything, but based on what matters (wins and losses) Bielema is a darn good football coach.

1. To be honest, I am very confused by this year's results. In 2007, BB's team started the year ranked 7th. They finished 9-4 and lost in the Outback Bowl (clear failure to live up to expectations). 2008, same story. ranked 12th to start the season, finished 7-6 (and would have lost to us with a healthy Decker). This year, ranked 11th. Finally lived up to expectations - but won TWO games because a team missed an extra point, and looked awful losing at Michigan St. I will definitely agree they were the best Big10 team by the end of the year but I think that is much more because of the talent and offensive scheme than anything BB has done.

2. I definitely agree he is a prick. I do have the ability to hate someone and think that person is still a good coach - your Bo Ryan example is a very good one. I completely despise him but he definitely gets the most out of his team

3. I wasn't around two years ago when people were apparently claiming Brew was a better recruiter/coach than BB. That said, going into the Axe game in 2008 I probably would have said that as well (and been wrong). Please note that just because BB is a better coach than Brew does NOT make him a good coach.

We can agree to disagree on whether Rose Bowl=good coach automatically, I just see BB's team finally living up to its preseason hype for the first time, and I feel that a truly good coach would have gotten a top10 team to better than 4 and 6 losses the previous few years.
