I think they will be announcing it tonight. Can't see any Gophers named in the two deeps. I guess McKnight is our best best and will likely get honorable mention. Wonder if Wills gets mentioned.

I am guessing Wills gets HM. I could see McKNight sneaking onto the second team. There are not a ton of great WRs in the league, just a lot of good ones (he is one of them).
TS could make it if they do a return man and the other good returners like Johnson-Koulianos are already on as position players.

Doesn't McKnight lead the conference in touchdown catches? If that's still the case, I'll bet he makes the second team. The conference would like to see every school represented by at least one player on their All Conference teams if possible, so I bet they'll throw us a bone, and beyond that McKnight deserves it. He's had a great year.

Whatever.

The coaches votes are sobering for us.

What if the coaches had been looking at our Illinois and Iowa tapes all year? I guarantee that Jeff Wills' block on the game-winning touchdown against Illinois would've turned a lot of heads. At it stands, nobody saw it...

Timing...

Agree 100%.

The Badgers had 7 on the first two teams and 11 honorable mentions. Also, their second straight freshman of the year.

Imagine how good the Badgers would be if Bielema could actually recruit?

Shouldn't you be trying to figure out a way to get an animal carcass to Pasadena?

See, you go long stretches being okay and fairly cool and then you go all d-rocket on us.

You're trolling people who support a team that finished 10th out of 11 in the conference and currently doesn't have a coach. I have no problem with you jumping in when someone is actively ripping Burt, but that hasn't come up on this thread. We're discussing our players (or lack thereof) on the BT awards list. Wisconsin hasn't even been mentioned.

Seriously, man, I just don't know what you get out of doing that.

I just rewatched the Iowa game. Wills absolutely manhandled Broderick Binns. Put him in his back pocket all game long.

Toaster makes bread stale. See, I can throw words together that have nothing to do with the subject at hand too.

So talking about players that made the All Big Ten team does not fit under a thread that says BTN All Conference picks?

If Bielema gets Big Ten Coach of the Year over Dantonio, it will be a complete farce. They better not share the award, either.

The point is many people on this board argued that based on recruiting rankings, Bielema could not recruit, that Brewster was out recruiting him and that the programs were going in opposite directions. They also argued that he only was 12-1 because he won with Barry's recruits.

The All Big 10 teams indicate all those people are dead wrong. If people were not so insistent about it and did not sound like such idiots (they know who they are) then it would not be worth bringing up.

The only thing those people had right is that the programs were indeed going in opposite directions.

The point of a message board, I thought, was for conversation and debate. Now that the debate is over on the Minnesota is out recruiting Wisconsin argument, it is fair to point out how many people were wrong.

Everyone was wrong about Bielema as well, but I am sure nobody will be admitting that anytime soon. If the Gophers ever hire a good coach that can make the rivalry competitive again, I would be happy to acknowledge it. Fortunately, they hired Brewster who you could see was a fraud the day he opened his mouth.

How about McKnight not even receiving Honorable Mention from either the coaches or the media? That surprised me a little bit.

Yes, talking about Badger players on a Gophers board makes a ton of sense. Congratulations.

I'm curious though - why did you only talk about Badger players, and not Minnesota, MSU, Michigan, Purdue, OSU, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, NU, or PSU players?

Maybe because the point I was making was about Badgers players?

Last time I checked, the Gophers and the Badgers are both in the Big 10.

Dantonio won the award. The only thing they shared was the conference title.

Oh, so you didn't want to talk about the BTN All-Conference picks...you wanted to talk about Badger players.

Yup, it certainly does make a lot of sense to talk about Badger players on a Gophers fan board.

GVBadger has many things in common with a case of genital herpes. Everything is fine for a while and then out of nowhere it flares up again.

Back to the OP... I think it's criminal Lair and McKnight didn't get any love. This one is more debateable but IMO it's too bad for a senior like Wills to not get an HM. But that's what happens when your team only wins 3 games.

That's because we weren't wrong - Bielema is still a *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#ty coach

I heard they tied in the voting, but Bielema was given the award over Dantonio because running up the score on weak opposition is a higher tie breaker than head-to-head results.

You're comment would have been relevant to the topic at hand, until you felt the need to add the second part (Bolded). Pointing out how many players Wisconsin had all BT is fine. Throwing in a little snark comment after it is the issue and continuing to bring up comments made almost two years ago over and over and over and over and over again in places where they make little sense is just dumb.

Would a formal written statement from all Gopher fans admitting that we were incorrect in a thread on a message board from nearly two years ago help you to calm down and stop bringing it up at every chance you get?

Really? I think going to the rose bowl kind of disproves him being a bad coach.

It's fine to hate Wisconsin, but to act like they don't have a good football program right now and a good coach is just dumb. While he appears to be a prick in some ways, he is a very good football coach. Just as much as I hate Bo Ryan, he is still a good basketball coach.

And we were wrong, Bielema has proven that he is a better coach than Brewster. I am not sure who the better recruiter is or anything, but based on what matters (wins and losses) Bielema is a darn good football coach.
