Brosmer in Vikings Game

He looked great. Even with the couple faux pas, his patience and awareness were beyond what we see from a lot of second and third string guys in the NFL. If he keeps it going he'll be on the roster. Just need to keep the pressure on Rypien.

Former Washburn player and QB guru Quincy Avery star of new Hulu documentary

“The Quincy Avery Effect” chronicles his rise from Washburn backup QB through today, running his renowned QB Takeover training program.

Though many of Avery’s highest profile clients are Black, he’ll train anyone with the desire to be great. Take Max Brosmer, a Roswell, Ga. product who started working with Avery in seventh grade and just finished at the University of Minnesota. Avery and Kevin O’Connell, now the Vikings head coach, met years ago as instructors at Elite 11, a premier quarterback camp for high schoolers in California. So Avery was delighted when Brosmer landed a free agent contract with the Vikings.

“I think Max could have a really long career in the NFL,” Avery said. “I never would have thought that’s where he was going to be, but he was really diligent about the work he was willing to put in. He was unrelenting in doing those things, and it’s really cool to see where he’s at today.”

Surprised no media asked Kevin about Brosmer, but JJ did get a questions about Brosmer.

It was refreshing to hear JJ had great things to say about Brosmer in his post-game conference.

JJ is gonna be QB 1 unless he's injured. Howell, supposedly has had very rough practices but he looked sharp in the game today. He has 20 something NFL starts, I think they said? So, he's going to be #2 unless he falls apart. But Max looked great!
Composed, great quick decisions and accurate throws. So, he is not going through waivers....somebody will claim him. He has to be QB 3 and on the 53. Right?
I feel better about the Viking QB's after today/

For me, Paul Allen would have been good back in the day on Sportscenter doing color on the highlights but he is tough to listen to for an entire game.
He was ESPECIALLY bad today! Usually, he's up and down for me but kinda tolerable.
Today he was not good.

Brosmer excelled in high school in Georgia, but he wasn't offered by any big colleges. Measurables, I suppose.

So he went to New Hampshire, set records there, and used his COVID extension to transfer to Minnesota.

In the B1G, he played well enough to lead his team to a good record and to get some serious attention from the NFL.

We'll see how this plays out. A word to the wise, though; I wouldn't sell him short. He apparently thrives on that. People who underestimate him may end up with egg on their face — which, admittedly, would not be a new experience for some folks.

The thing that kills me is his complaining about referees. Like, look, if they made a bad call, acknowledge it I guess for those of us out walking their dogs that can’t see for themselves. But does it really require 15 minutes of ranting? Dude knows more about the penalty stats of the referees than he does about the roster of the other team.

I can’t remember which game last year but there was at least one that I turned off because the Vikings were losing and he just wouldn’t stop crying about it

I was 120% wrong about Brosmer. Huge fan of the kid. Stuck with bad o-line and play calling the first half of last year. He's legit.

He is awful. He does an interview and then just spends 80% of it talking. The interviewees have to wonder why they are even there.

I just can’t believe there are enough people out there who enjoy his bit to justify him having the show in that slot.
Same with Mike Max though not as egregious. They frame their questions with their preferred answer. Too often their opening line to the interview subject is something on the line of "It must have felt great when you did that" which is a statement and not a question. A good interviewer would frame it as "How did you feel when you did that?" and let the subject take it from there.

I thought the best pass Max threw was the one that was dropped. About 20 yards downhill, led him perfectly just as he broke free. Should have been a big gain.
Loved the quick release and confidence.
Don't know if fumble was his fault or center, but that can't happen.
