Brian Bennett blog: Nine-game Big Ten schedule in 2017?

That would make getting 7 home games each year tricky. We would have to have all three non-conference games at home in years where we had only 4 conference games at home, and we could have 2 out of 3 non-conference games in years where we had 5 conference games at home. Of course there's nothing that says we have to have seven home games.

This is the Big Ten Conference: every team should play every other team in...

the conference EVERY year. That would bring real value to a season ticket holder. No more games with Montana State, Eastern Illinois, Southwest Missouri State, et al that are some of the typical ooc games for Big Ten Programs.

How can there be a Big Ten champion unless every Big Ten Team playes every other Big Ten Team?

Not that it's a major concern for the Gophers, but this is something of a disadvantage for teams that are NC contenders. Are the OSU's of the world still going to be willing to play Texas/USC if they have 9 Conference games? I'm thinking no. Maybe we'll have a play-off by 2017 and make it irrelavent.
