Text messages and cardboard cut-outs! Give them the death penalty!

Secondary Rules violations are essentially headaches for ADs and compliance offices. They are not major violations and 9 times out of 10 they amount to a slap on the wrist, especially ones that ARE SELF-REPORTED. Do you understand now?

Again, they are secondary, they happen everywhere, mostly for dumbass reasons:

So let me rephrase this:

Show me REAL tanGIBLE EVIDENce that BrewSTER COMMITED MAJoR RuLES VioALTIONS. If you are not capable of doing that you need to put down the Old Grandad's and come up with a new schtick, because I can smell the booze all the way over here. I expect more out of Gopher FooTBALL'S BIGGEST BREWBAll BAckeR.

You people need to realize that you should NOT take...

transgressions of the NCAA rules lightly. For every few of these types of violations, one would need to start growing distrustful of a coach who pays no attention to the "little rules" as you little people call them. Especially a coach who is obsessed with recruiting. The rules all get bent and the obsessive and compuslive recruiter fails to see...pay attention to...starts feeling entitled to ignore those rules that he bent... Then, pretty soon, the boosters become the ones bending the rules and the coach just looks the other way. And then...you turn a brewster into a tressel...and the whole darn thing is WAY" out of control.

WHAT reasons did tressel have to cheat and pay no attention to the NCAA rules ? He thought they weren't important...just the way brewster didn't see the importance of these little rules and so he simply ignored them. Pretty soon one bent rule leads to another bent rule and pretty soon any and all rules are being bent...broken and totally ignored.

tressel had MORE talent than he knew what to do with and he let the stinking boosters run the show. Give brewster a few more years and where do you suppose he would have been. He was obsessed with recruiting. He couldn't pay attention to things like game planning, coaching, disciplining players or paying attention to the little NCAA rules that he had already started bending in his first season.

You people called me a liar because I experssed concern about brewster's attitude toward NCAA rules and regulations.. I was NOT telling any lies. I knew brewster had already started getting busted on NCAA rules stuff in his first season. Learn that you need to take the rules and this NCAA stuff REALLY seriously littlekuato and killsthejoy. And brewster did NOT start out taking the NCAA stuff seriously. Just what the hell did he take seriously????? An NCAA rule IS an NCAA rule. The law is the law. And, if a coach ignores the law...you GOT TO bring the hammer down~ tressel should have been busted WAY back in his youngstown days. And berwster was headed down a slippery slope...it was inevitable that the hammer was going to come down on him...it just happened sooner rather than later and he had his coaching job taken away from him before he had the chance to get himself too much in trouble with the NCAA...

Wren i thought you were the The #1 Brewball Backer?

What the hell is this? We're now allowed to throw around libelous, baseless accusations with no repercussions whatsoever? What on earth does this freak of nature have to do to get perma-banned?

The man doesn't seem to have the ability to comprehend what people are saying to him. I don't know if is because he is so obsessed with his anti this and that, but you have better chance of explaining it to a dog than you do to wren.

Wren doesn't realize there is a big, giant, humongous step between a secondary rule being broken, and LYING TO THE NCAA about a known infraction.

Even the people that wrote the 800-millon page NCAA rulebook realize this, and thus they enforce these situations very differently.

If you believe Wren's version of ethical standards, you not only have to ignore common sense, but differ in principle from the very people that write and enforce the rules.

You would be naive at best, and a fool at worst, to think that a coach or program has gone their entire length of time at a school without some form of a violation being committed. Most probably don't even know they are committing a violation. There have been countless stories of this happening. It's like saying "I've never broken the law." Every one of us has likely driven an automobile over the posted speed limit, intentional or not. In Wren's world a speeder would be locked in the same jail cell as a level 3 sex offender.

Was driving in the work truck Monday morning when a friend texted me that Tressel was done. I I flipped over to the XM College Sports station and guess who's familiar voice I heard? Tim! Hadn't heard a peep from him in a long time. Summary: "coaches have a tough job; don't get enough time and are under a lot of pressure so the big money they get is deserved; he didn't get enough time at Minnesota, didn't even get to see his recruits have a complete college career before 'they went another direction', etc... All in all though he was as always forever upbeat. Cut off his leg and he'd still enter the ass-kicking contest and think he could win.

Dear, Mr. Brewster you were not qualified to be a head coach at a major university. Maybe you should have been a head coach somewhere else before we made the mistake of hiring you.

Minnesota Daily, September 2004:

"The investigation revealed one secondary violation. In September, the football equipment staff sold a shoulder harness to a recruit, breaking an NCAA bylaw that prohibits the arrangement of benefits for recruits, the report stated."

Wren, how on god's green earth can you type so much and say absolutely nothing, it boggles my mind. If you made just one valid point for every 1,000 words you typed we would have a book the size of War and Peace, Instead all we have is the cliff notes for Clifford, The Big Red Dog, it's nearly a miracle.

A rule is a rule and the law is the law...ignorance of the law...

is NO excuse. Either get the rules and the laws changed, OR, obey the letter of the law. That's the thing. As long as there is an NCAA law or rule OBEY the law. Or, if you choose to break those NCAA laws...turn yourself in in EVERY single one of them until you get the NCAA so swamped with the paperwork that even they will see a need to simplify and streamline and get rid of the tons of little laws and rules on their books. THAT is the way to FORCE the NCAA to make some changes. The NCAA IS the organization that represents the prexys of the university and college systems of this country. BURY them in paperwork. DESTROY their staffs by forcing them to deal with all of the rules and laws that they have.

People need to USE the system to CHANGE the system. Make the piles of paperwork coming in from every college and universty just more "back at you NCAA" paperwork that will grind the NCAA to a halt. They make little rules so they can apear to be in charge...but...they let all the big crap go for their biggest and most shining programs...the ones that the cable networks and tv networks LOVE to showcase.

But, be sure to follow the letter of the law. Let the NCAA decide IF they can hire enough people to process all the paperwork and write all the opinions. FORCE each and every prexy of a college/university to hire dozens more compliance officers to deal with all of the NCAA rules, regulations and laws. FORCE the issue. FORCE your local university prexy to go to his/her fellow prexy's and complain about this NCAA agency that they, the prexys have created. DESTROY the NCAA by self-reporting so much stuff that the NCAA can NOT keep up with the compliance issues that they continue to manufacture. THAT is how you reign in huge paper-pushing organizations.

But, do it early...often...and with GREAT detail.

And, in the mean while, the NCAA NEEDS to take down Auburn, Oregon, most of the major college programs in the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, PAC-10, ACC, Big East along with them major independents and virtually every other conference. The NCAA IS shot. College Revenue sports are corrupt and crooked...football, basketball...both of 'em. Everybody cheats. Everybody points their fingers at everybody else. We all know it.

IF the college and university prexys don't crack down NOW, the gamblers, drug runners, and boosters are going to even more blatently corrupt college revenue sports. IF they bet on the outcome of a game...there is a crooked gambler/bookie/gaming industry official trying to get control of the student athletes. College and univerity prexys: you have LOST the war. The NCAA does NOT work. It is ALL broken. You are all running a scam. And we season ticket holders and people who boost these broken programs are just as much to blame as the gambling industry and the tatoo/drug runner/gambling joints in c-town and all around the country.

So, dump all the paperwork of the self-reporting process on the heads of the NCAA right now. Let your local college prexy KNOW that you KNOW that their little agency allows the BIG TIME PROGRAMS to cheat at will. It's a multi-billion dollar slush fund for the college prexys. Either fix big time revenue sports and the NCAA OR shut 'em all down. And apply the laws and rules and enforcement EQUALLY, across the board with great force and with incredibly harsh punishments. You are going to kill some programs. They are that bad and the problem is that universal in EVERY major conference.

It is NOW or NEVER NCAA, college/university prexys AND legislators. It is corrupt and has a lot of ties to criminal activity. Clean it up or shut it down. Note to prexy b: as you leave you need to know that you and your fellow prexys all across the country have FAILED with your NCAA organization. It is corrupt. You are corrupt. You have ALL turned blind eyes as your college sports have brought in billions of dollars to your campus settings. Organized and unorganized crime has crept into the college sports scene. Look at the gambling. Look at the players being influenced, bought and corrupted bythe sleeze factors that gain gambling advantages by owningand buying your players and game officials.

Now that you have USC and Ohio State: do NOT stop there. Go after all the corruption and bring the big time offenders down. Bring the wanna be big time offenders down. CLEAN UP this mess NOW.

What do you think of that people who want to just ignore all the "little, unimportant stuff?" Now, get out there and start defending the NCAA IF you can... Tell me that the NCAA isn't corrupt and inefficient and totally worthless. Defend the college/university prexys. Tell me that all those other programs are BAD and our program is perfectly fine and compliant in EVERY regard. Can you stoop that far? Can you look the other way long enough? Can you focus you hatred and angst and anger at the messenger and defend the broken system?

Lets have a GOOD discussion about exactly how corrupt the revenue sports and the NCAA currently are. The players...the colleges....the administrators...the coaches...the organized crime...the game officials...the tv-packages with conferences...everything is fair game and nothing is off limits!
