Brew on Sports Huddle

Booing is entirely self centered, serves no 'greater purpose' and is particularly disrespectful to all the student athletes, student trainers, grad assisstants and parents who pour there heart and soul into the program and are dedicated at a far greater level than you. These people work hard everyday of the year to make the program better and you think that booing is how a program improves. Ignorance is bliss.

Standing ovation for you, my friend.

And whoever is justifying booing because college football is a big business?? Sounds like you're referring more to a fortune 500 company. People usually pay the money because they love and support the team and how it brings the community together, NOT because they think an extra fifty bucks will translate to more wins and better play. Booing only demonstrates someone's disgust, something that is usually a product of overreaction.

I will boo every time Weber touches the ball if he starts

Looks like a lot of hard liquor and booing for me again this season......

Between this conversation and Horton's it is like they are building the ground work to prepare people that Weber is going to be our starter.

Maybe recruits see the sucky player on the field getting booed and know they are better than that sucky player and that they won't get booed because they don't suck.

I booed Adam Weber the entire Illinois game and will boo again if he sucks nads like he did last year.

Great--eventually "fans" like you go away. Boo the coaches, boo the AD, boo the other fans around you...but booing a college kid is classless. This vitriol is expected on the internet, but in-person is inexcusable.

Here we go with this crap again. Division I athletes are booed all the time, and should be when their performance warrants it. We are giving them a free education and/or the opportunity to play a kid's game in front of thousands of people on a weekly basis. They all took the diapers off a long time ago.

If you don't want vocal criticism of your performance, play NAIA or intramurals.

Can you explain why I got quoted in your post. I'm assuming you made some negative assumptions about my post, but I would prefer to get clarification from you then guessing.

Sorry no "should be" at all. Your opinion that you can boo is your opinion, and in fact if you want to boo you can do that easily behind the monitor of a TV on your couch just as easily as easily behind the monitor of a computer.

Class is cultural, and actions within that culture can be debated. And people can try to change that culture by addressing things like booing college kids like people are doing.

He was a redshirt freshman last year and reportedly one of the best players on scout D. He's like 6'2" 210 and a fantastic afro. I bet he plays a lot of special teams this year. Seems like a hard working kid from what I've read, might play his way onto the D, but will have to beat out the other LB's.

Actually, Hill was a TFr last year. This year he is a RFr.

If they pour their heart and soul into it and still produce poor results they have no business being involved in the program, replace them with better talent.

Lets explore this a little bit. They have made a committment to the U, and in turn the U makes a committment to them. You think that even though they hold up their end of the bargain, the U should not?

Does this logic apply to constantly negative posters?

No, but anyone who thinks Weber will magically be better this season after 3 years of not being good should be institutionalized.

So 2nd team All-Big Ten isn't good, huh? You must be institutionalized, man.

Everyone knows Weber can be really good from watching his performance against, say, MSU, but consistency is his downfall. Inconsistency in offensive schemes = inconsistency in offensive execution. With Horton simplifying the current system, I could easily see Adam retaining the starting spot as well as excelling in it.
