The loss to Wisconsin last night falls squarely on the Williams Arena fans. When they booed every time Carrington touched the ball, I knew the game was over. If the Barn crowd had done nothing, Carrington would have bricked every shot he put up just when he was at The U. But noooo. We had to do the one thing that was certain to cause bad karma for the team (just like that f*cking "We Hate Iowa" chant).

Booing Carrington doesn't even make sense. He didn't do anything insulting when he left The U. He simply disappeared from a crappy Ben Johnson program--who would blame him. Not only that, why didn't anyone boo when Trevor Winter's kid touched the ball?

It is proof that Minnesota fans are clueless.

The guy who sat out 10 games because he threw a fit he wasn't starting (allegedly)? The guy who spread his discontent with others on the team? The guy who shot 22% from 3 his Sophomore year?

I wasn't there but if I was, I would have booed him too. And I would again.

February, 2024, fans booed Jamison Battle with Ohio State at the Barn and Gophers won. That was fun. I was there. The boo blasts from the student section moved my hair.

Although Battle had 21 points, have to think about this...

This slug couldn't make a 3 pointer to save his life his whole gopher career, then comes back and does this.
I don't care about booing or anything else, fans paid for their ticket they can do what they want.

It's just frustrating a guy that was mostly bad here just had the best game of his career against us.

That's the Bray I'll always remember

Let’s hope with Niko the long & distressing history of Minnesotans aiding & abetting Wisconsin basketball victories over the Gophers will end. (Let’s also hope the ten seconds or so of Winter bricking two clinching free throws and Tyson hitting the three signals a better future.)

Sounds like he was not Coached up very well while he was at the University of Minnesota.

Perhaps. Also, sometimes you just have to have time to grow up. These are kids coming out of high school. Who knows the emotional baggage they are carrying in their personal lives that have never been addressed when they get to college.

Good for Braedan sucked he went off but he's been playing well for them the last few games. Braedan was always a good defender for us and he appears to have found his shooting form. Sometimes you have a good game plan and the other team plays well and you get beat and all you can really do is top your hat. I doubt Carrington has same impact in the rematch in a couple of weeks

Multiple things can be true.

He's clearly a mental midget. I am the furthest thing from a Ben Johnson fan, but he did everything right by that kid. Was he coached up? Carrington is a good ball player who normally doesn't shoot well, he had a good shooting game. I don't think it was coaching. The guy is probably great when things are going well, when they're not, he's evaporates.

Agreed. Moving away from home often has that effect on people and likely was/is the case for him getting out of the Cities.

He was a locker room cancer, he barely had a team to go to before Tulsa threw him a lifeline. He wanted to come back. Ben said no.

Agree that Carrington probably doesn't deserve a lot of hate from the fanbase but booing a guy who was here and left is different then booing a kid who is from here but chose to play somewhere else.

OP might be on to something. Let's start cheering really loud for the opposition and booing our own players. That must be what all the smart fan bases are doing.

At HBS make sure to make as much noise as possible when our offense is on 3rd down as well.
