Never knew they had turquoise as a team color always thought they were black, red and white or silver? I understand you can do an all neutral like white, grey or black as alternative but to just come up with new school colors? Lame and no tradition!

On Friday night, the Lobos unveiled their “United in Turquoise” jersey, a replica of the 1973-79 uniforms worn by the Lobo football team. The unveiling to the team happened at a team movie as the introductory video played between trailers of the main feature.

Just so we don't come out with blah white uniforms that have no ties to the Golden Gophers" the networks still tag us as. Gold helmets and pants, with maroon trim would look good to me.

The 1980s Miami dolphins look. Where they use the white on the helmets versus the turquoise on the jerseys with lines on the pants and helmets with a little bit of the other colors other than white. It's just a cool look that reminds me of growing up and loving the uniforms of teams like the dolphins. I'm sure some people will love them and some people will hate them.

Miami Dolphins- teal / aqua

Unless they took separate gear down to practice with, versus game gear. I think that is common at the high levels of college where they have 78 sets of everything and can't spend money fast enough.

You are actually 100% correct. They are all different. But something about the style and the different style of blue with the secondary color just made me think of those teams. And I like all the uniforms of teams like the '80s dolphins, oilers, etc

You are right. If I remember correctly they did some heritage campaign with the native population when they re-introduced these fits.

That was my take as well, it's in the style of the Oilers.

Very nice. Being that I love the classic MMG for home, the goldy maroon lid would be the only thing making it better for me.
