Gal from Providence Academy is eating her lunch. Dahlman very one demential.
She is strong and and is fairly quick, but I would say a average ball handler and plays to stiff and not creative with the ball. Good shooting technique, but hasn't shot especially well tonight. Wing player in in college IMO not a Mac AA like Coffy

She is MAA though.

I love the vocabulary of Uncle Sy on Duck Dynasty. :)

I'd take Dahlman over pretty much anyone on the current Gopher team besides Banham.

At least she got Carlie Wagner who scored 48 points tonight.

Wagner like Banham has wiggle in her get-along. In other words, she can crate inside the paint. Those of you who watched, did you notice she had a step back jumper? Pretty impressive for a junior. Better player and more polished than Dahlman, and she is just a junior. I hope Pam can keep her. Coffy was the gal Pam really missed on. She will be a great player for Northwestern.

48 points, 13 rebounds....and 16 turnovers? Yikes, that needs to change.

You should've actually tuned in to the game. (no offense intended at all)
It's just that more than half of those turnovers were do to the fact that, putting it lightly, many of the other players on her team are god awful and offer no assistance whatsoever in helping Wagner out.
She had the ball in her hands the whole game and when she got doubled teamed nobody got open to help her, and some passes she made were not handled well by her teammates because they don't have the best hands in the world.

Wagner has a very impressive penetration, to a step back 14-19 foot jumper. She does finish well around the rim, is a good creator, and hits her free throws. Her 3-point shot is good, but still could use an improvement for the college level. (Get that percentage up 5-10%)

And yes, Coffey is a very good player from when I've seen her both in person and on tv. She is uber athletic, rebounds well, is great in transition, finishes inside, and has a sweet 3 point stroke!

I personally haven't been blown away by Dahlman though.

Dahlman and Wagner going at each other every play and Wagner with the advntage so far, game is on 45 TV for anyone that didn't know and wants to watch in Minnesota.

It's okay to admit when someone just has a bad turnover game. Her team is 31-1. Unless she has beaten 31 teams this year playing 5 against 1, I highly doubt many of her teammates are God awful.

Dahlman 2pts 3reb and 2ast in 1st half but she did sit much of 1st half with 3 fouls, Wagner 19pts, 5reb, and 1ast in 1st half as Wagner's team leads 27-15.

I don't know How ruppert can say borton didn't miss on her! Love her game she attacks the basket Well plays Very physical I like it!

Could even add Coffey to that team too, she's probably another one we will regret missing on and could possibly add Johnson to that list too.

NRHEG beats Braham 60-59, Dahlman ends with 32pts(30 in 2nd half), 8reb, 4ast and fouled out with about 40 seconds left. Wagner sets record for most points in a tournament, most points in a game, most field goals attempted in a tournament, most field goals made in a tournament, most field goals attempted in a game, and tied a record for most field goals made in a game. She ended with 51pts(including game winning free throw with 6 seconds left), 12reb, and 1ast.

Didn't see the game, but from what I saw yesterday I would still take Wagner over Dahlman based on what each brings to the table.

I would probably too its very close but the point is we had a chance to land both and Coffey too for that matter.

For once I agree with you ruppertflywheel. I will admit being from blooming prairie a conference rival with NRHEG I was routing for the panthers. But not only did her play impress me more than dahlmans, he attitude was much better he focus is incredible never complaining to refs and always hustling down the court. Dahlman walked up the court many times. Wagner's game face is downright Intense. I would bet a ton of money that Wagner will have a much better college career than Dahlman, GLAD SHE IS IN MAROON AND GOLD!!! I just hope Blooming Prairie can somehow beat them over the next couple of years because her sisters are coming as well. Just my $0.02.

I would too, Wagner has outperformed Dahlman in the state tournament twice now! It's no coincidence. Let's keep in mind that Wagner is A YEAR YOUNGER than Dahlman too.
(Could we see Wagner become a McDonalds AA?) She sure deserves it!

*Tyus Jones even tweeted a couple times about her!

Don't forget that decommit Kenisha Bell is still VERY MUCH interested in the gophers, and may I add probably more than any other school right now. She is playing now in the 4A Championship game vs Hopkins right now tied 28-28 at half.
The possibility of a 3-guard combo of Banham, Wagner, and Bell remains very real!

Dahlman obviously has talent - but a lot of her game involves driving to the hoop and drawing fouls or making driving layups. That will be harder to pull off in college, when she is facing quicker defenders on the perimeter, and taller/stronger defenders in the lane. I think Wagner's game translates more readily to college.

Having said that, it's a said statement on the Gopher women's program when former Gopher star Richard Coffey has 2 daughters that are D-1 caliber athletes, and neither one chose the U of M. That is not a ringing endorsement of Borton's program.

Borton is terrible. Whether Wagner is better than Dahlman is debatable but what isn't debatable is that Banham could have used some help. We have alot of talent in the state and will get to watch most of it leave and be successful somewhere else.
