P.J. Fleck said during his introductory press conference that he hopes to complete his coaching staff in the next few days and that he will consider holdovers from Tracy Claeys’ staff.

Here is my one suggestion to Fleck: Retain linebackers coach Mike Sherels.

Sherels embodies everything about Gophers football. He loves this program, this school and this state.

Yes, if Sawvel remains, this team might be able to hold serve with last year's defense. However, I don't know what Fleck is planning and he may just want to clean house.

Sherels I would believe is a lock to remain, based on his personality, passion, and personal story.

2 of the strengths of the team the last couple of years have been the LB's and DB's. I'd love to see Fleck hold onto Sherels and Sawvel.
