I'll get this rolling. 2,3, 6, and 10. Getting a little arbitrary on team #10. I probably use RPI more than I should. But, just one man's opinion.....

TJ, respectfully, the idea of this exercise is to let people make their own judgments without any outside observations or influences until after the voting is completed. Thanks.

I like the 12 team challenge! I'll have to abstain from voting, however, as I recognize too many of these teams. Looks like I've had too much time on my hands lately .

Caravan,

Knowing who some of the teams are doesn't preclude you from voting. I always add my vote to the mix & I know who the teams are. Go ahead & give it a shot. Just no comments about the teams you select, please.

I know, I know..

...honor system and all that. But I can't help that some of these are easy for me to ID without looking them up. I pick:

1: Good Top-50 and Top-100 performance, just better than Team 9 in Road/Neutral

3: Tough non-con, great finish, stellar Top-100 tally

4: Most Top-50 wins of 12, solid RPI, obvious mid-major, but deserving

5: 5 Top-50 wins, only better than Team 8 with good finish

Runners-up: 8 and 9

Teams 2 and 6 need a few more Top-50 wins

Team 7 I left out because of bad losses

Team 10 I left out because of RPI, just don't see it happening

Teams 11 and 12 are barely out of the running w/ 3 Top-50 wins.

Our "Last 4 in" Results

Thanks again for participating. First off, kudos to TJGopher for figuring out the gist of what I was doing this time around. TJ was correct, I did intentionally include 2 teams that are mortal locks for the tournament. And for the most part, you folks shrewdly figured out which teams those were. What I was most interested in was who you would select with the not-quite-so-obvious choices. For the record, I chose 2, 3, 4 & 8.

Kudos also for not being homers. I thought some of you might figure out which team was the Gophers, but if you figured it out you didn't let it sway your selections. There wasn't a single vote for the Gophers. So without further ado, here's the final vote tally (7 people participated):

Team 3: 7
Team 4: 6
Team 2: 5
Team 6: 3

Team 1: 2
Team 5: 1
Team 7: 1
Team 8: 1
Team 10: 1
Team 12: 1
Team 9: 0
Team 11: 0

Missing the cut and headed to the NIT (in order of votes) are: Team 1 (Boston College); Team 5 (Cincinnati); Team 7 (Kentucky); Team 8 (Michigan); Team 10 (Penn State); Team 12 (Wisconsin); Team 9 (GOPHERS); and Team 11 (Virginia Tech).

The 4 teams making the cut and headed for the NCAA (in order of votes) are: Team 3 (Butler); Team 4 (Cal); Team 2 (BYU); and Team 6 (Dayton).

Butler and Cal are the two teams included here I'd call mortal locks for the tournament. BYU and Dayton aren't locks but are in pretty good shape as well. You folks did a nice job of identifying those teams.

Ok, I admit I knew Wisconsin was 12 and voted for them. There, I feel better.
