Black Uniforms against MSU

For those who hate the uniform combos. Perhaps you should donate a couple hundred million to buy some 4* players, and you can put in a caveat that you will only give them the money if they only wear maroon and ugly-ass baby shit yellow gold. No metallics, black, anthracite etc. Otherwise, you have no say.

This just in: it's a fan board with differing opinions

Settle down

I think the real solution is for people to just start getting comfortable disagreeing on whether or not the school colors matter in the uniform scheme

You like wearing Iowa colors. I don’t.
Agree to disagree. It’s fine

I can make it through an entire summer with just a pair of shorts, a couple favorite t-shirts and my Gopher flip-flops. All of this discussion about uniform fashion throughout an entire college football season is a little baffling to me.

Maroon, Gold, Full Banana, Arctic Blast, Anthracite, Back in Black...just win more meaningful games, please. I really could care less about our uniforms.

lol! Gopher Gold color is more like high quality 24 kt gold than the cheap ass 5 kt gold color you want. 🤣

I’d prefer us wear maroon but I don’t really care

I do find the anger it gives people humorous though so I love these threads

I will take the black unis any day over the monstrosity throwbacks the NFL trots out there. Steelers uniforms last week were ridiculous and the Packers look like the Bears this week.

The bumblebee unis are great. They aren’t making a bunch of hard up students pay hundreds in fees for arguably stupid novelty unis. Not a great PR look.

Just saying.

Tired line.
But it's great since it gets people bent out of shape. Just like making fun of geezers who always complained about people standing up, or when they decided to sell beer, or when they sold naming rights etc. It's big money entertainment. Not Sid-era ice cream socials and sock hops.

Make sure you remember that when you get upset over shit the youth don't deem relevant and your use of tiktok is referenced in ridicule of our generation a few decades from now

You missed my attempt at humor.

Here's a pragmatic reason why teams should wear school colors. Friends of mine from Minnesota were in a Vegas sports book. There's more than 2 dozen TV monitors in the place and while they realized the Spartan/Gopher game wouldn't be on the larger ones, they assumed it wasn't on at all.

Finally on mid 3rd Q they noticed a play with the Block M logo at midfield and realized it had been on the whole time.

End of the world? No, but sort of missing the purpose of branding with school colors.

Be honest, you're actually working your way through 8th grade earth science at Metcalf Middle School.
Be honest, you probably think the team should wear these colors because maroon and gold something something.

Your friends are illiterate morons, and that's a UMN branding issue?

Reading comprehension has zero to do with it.

I was in the same place yesterday, working on my first screwdriver. Being more focused on Vikes-Lions, a few screens as way, it took me a series to realize that it was actually the Packers playing the Panthers, not the Bears (who were going against the Bengals at the same time). It's how the whole thing was brought up to begin with.

I'm glad I wagered on the Over in the actual Bears game.

I tend to enjoy the mixing up of uniforms, and it is a little jolt in my week when Thursday roles around and they publish some little video of what the team will be wearing the following Saturday. There are some things I am not a fan of (black uniforms, the newer/lighter anthracite, white pants at home) but I do like most of the combos. I'm assuming it would be rare to love every single uniform combo.

Just because I don't like a couple of the combos, I'm pretty sure that doesn't make me an old man yelling at clouds.

That's like switching from drinking a Stroh's to Old Milwaukee.

Lose. Lose.

I also like the weekly excitement. I didn't care for the black on Saturday, I think, because they have been used before. Also with MSU all white and our white helmets, nothing popped for me visually.
