Black Uniforms against MSU

Don’t see why you couldn’t have alternate uniforms in variations of Maroon and gold. Oregon seems to be plenty creative by sticking primarily with their base colors. Black and Anthracite are abominations. All white is, too, but mostly because we get our asses kicked when we wear it.
Oregon literally only has one uniform that uses both of their two primary colors of green and yellow.

Honestly, as far as major programs go, only USC and Penn State come to mind as never having a real alternate uniform/color scheme, though I think PSU did wear some throwbacks with numbers on the helmets once or twice. Even Notre Dame has those bright green uniforms sometimes.
Exceptions rather than the rule. My point is that many teams wear a standard and universally recognized uniform with rare exceptions. Minnesota is not in that category.

I kind of got it when it was a new concept but how are people still getting bent out of shape by alternate uniforms? Pretty much everyone does it at least once in a season. Heck, even the NFL goes with the ridiculous looking throwbacks during the season.

That's exactly why I hate it, it's just not exciting. Almost every team wears black jerseys now. Do something unique like JMU.

I love how people comment on how so-and-so school only wears traditional uniforms, or only wears their perfect school colors, and 90% of the time, they're wrong.

Because ugly is ugly.

The black uniforms would look much better with a dark Maroon helmet and trim instead of white.

The numbers would have to be white.

White on the road, black at home. Ugh. Whatever happened to the school colors - maroon and gold. They are the colors of Autumn and look great in many configurations. Black, white, ugh.
Nothing happened. They're still the school colors.

"Kids like them and that's what matters!" So we wear them to please the kids!!

Players that wear boring OSU, Texas, Bama, Georgia uni's, etc go there to win and represent the uniform and the tradition whether they like them or not.
They also go there for million dollar paychecks.

Never want to see those uniforms EVER again!
Two weeks in a row of butt ugly!!!

Once again, the uniforms aren't for you. It's for the kids, the athletes. They like em... a lot.
Personally, I thought they looked sharp.
And to sell more merchandise. People get bent out of shape for the strangest things. Sometimes I dislike the combos. Most of the time I like them. Gold around the white numbers would have popped better imho, then trim the white helmets with gold facemasks and a solid maroon M with gold trim. But hey, as long as the players like it, I am fine with it.

I hope the students like them since they’re paying.

Personally, seems like they’re trying too hard but I’m old and grumpy.🦨
