Bill Belichick to become the UNC football head coach

Yikes - article in The Athletic lists details of Belichick's contact.

highlights:
*5-yr deal worth $10-mill a year - but only 1st 3 years guaranteed.
*Buyout is $10-mill - but drops to $1-mill on June 1st, 2025
*$10-million pool for assistant coaches (would be 3rd in FBS)
*also - $5.3-million for support staff and $1-mill for strength staff
(and get this)
*when revenue sharing begins next year, BB's contract states that UNC will pay $13-million to football players.

where in the bleep is all this money coming from?

I believe the revenue sharing cap is $20.5 million per school with the school determining how it's allocated? For the Tarheels, the football coach probably needs to battle the men's basketball team for dollars.

It feels weird to even discuss this stuff on a college sports board.

We jumped that shark a while ago. Sad how much of the talk is so focused on money now.

As for UNC, I am sure nearly their entire allotment of money will go to basketball and football. Doubt the other sports will get much at all.
