That’s about where Illinois belongs right now. Team has been devastated with injury and illness plus Kofi’s three game suspension. Full team hasn’t practiced in three weeks. Last game three starters out. Five different starting lineups in six games. Not sure who will play against Notre Dame tonight.

Curbelo getting over concussion. Frazier out with hyperextended knee. Hutcherson was out three games with tailbone injury. Goode was out with back spasms. Now the flu is ravaging the team. Grandison and Bosnans-Verdonk out with flu. Bad thing is Verdonk is Kofi’s roommate.

Got to hold on until everybody gets healthy and hope to come together then.

For clarity, here's how I distribute points for each team.

It's based on a team's wins + the number of wins by the opponents they've defeated. All DI wins are treated equally (1 point), while wins vs. a non-D1 opponent earns 1/2 of a point.

Here's the Gophers as an example:

5 Division I wins +
Kansas City (2.5 wins) +
Western Kentucky (3 wins) +
Princeton (4.5 wins) +
Purdue Fort Wayne (2.5 wins) +
Jacksonville (2.5 wins)
= 20 points

It’s early, so this will sort itself out as the better teams start stockpiling wins as the season progresses.
