Does anyone know why Florida Atlantic is considered the home team when they are playing Michigan State at Ford Field?

FAU was hoping for this game to open their new stadium, but the facility won't be ready until 2011. They moved the game to Detroit with the idea that Spartan fans would fill the place, and since it's still technically an FAU home game, FAU gets the gate proceeds, and those funds will go to the new stadium.
