Per Rodney:

15. Minnesota Golden Gophers (7–5)

The Nico Medved era has produced mixed early returns. Minnesota owns a Big Ten win over Indiana but also suffered an 85–57 blowout at Purdue. Cade Tyson leads the way at 22.8 points per game, and the Gophers have been solid defensively, allowing just 66.6 points per game. A trip to Northwestern is next after a nonconference game Sunday.

Go Gophers!!

Looking at the rankings it's a little surprising to see Oregon and Maryland so low, and Penn State a head of us. I am not sure what to make of Wisconsin and Obviously NW a different team without Martinelli. Seems like there is a clear top eight in the league and then kind of free for all after that, but I think there's an opportunity for us to be respectable and build a solid foundation for next year. Who knows if the five in five rule passes maybe we get Tyson and Reynolds back on top of it next year

KenPom has us at 15, a half point better than Maryland. Penn State and Rutgers bring up the rear. It's a big gulf between Minnesota at 99 and Oregon at 71.

Northwestern will be a stiff test. They're NCAA hopefuls. They ought to be favored by 8 or 9.
