Big Ten Power Poll-I need your help

What's up, everybody?

I'm assembling a panel of voters for a Big Ten power poll that I'll publish on StarTribune.com this season. I want representatives from all facets of the college basketball world. Players, coaches, writers, bloggers and fans.

If you're a college basketball fan who routinely follows the entire Big Ten basketball scene, email me at [email protected].

But I need people who can vote objectively. If the Gophers are playing like one of the top teams in the league, and you list them as the No. 1 squad in the Big Ten ... great. But if they lose four in a row, and they're still No. 1 in your poll, I'll throw out your votes.

This isn't a fan poll. But I want to put a few fans on the panel.

My goal is to publish the power poll each Friday, beginning Nov. 12, the day the Gophers face Wofford in their season-opener.

The list from this board should begin and end with Selection Sunday.
 


Selection Sunday gets my vote or FOT. Kidding SS all the way.
 

Selection Sunday hands down. Very objective very informed and I find it hard to disagree with him (usually).
 


Too bad coolhand is out of the country (is he still in Peru?) or he'd be a great candidate as well.
 


It's all you SS...can't think of someone more in the know numbers/poll-wise than thou.

After SS, he was the 2nd person that came to mind, but I'm not sure if he gets enough games down there? I'd also add DCGopherette/Hoffarette to that list. She watches a variety of games.
 


I would agree that SS/Hodger is the man for this job. Any other choice makes no sense.

And further, If SS is up for it, I think he should be given a shot at a YourVoices blog as well once the season gets rolling for his field of 68 picks.

I couldn't agree more with this statement!
 

Thanks for the love Moonie and GL (and yes, I'm still Livin' La Vida Lima), but even in my prime, I would defer to S.S.-he's the Hole's college basketball Rainman with much more advanced social skills ;) And the idea of a S.S. blog on the Strib would be wonderful (I could claim to have known him and GL before they "broke it big")

I'd also think Pewter would be pretty credible-since it's a Big 10 poll, there's no way he could vote for Duke :).
