Big Ten Offensive Line Rankings Entering 2025 (13. Minnesota)

Is there hope? I thought we thought we would be okay? Like 8.9 10 to start?
There is always hope. Any ranking right now is conjecture. Rankings 13 and 8 could be interchangeable in the grand scheme of things. We have question marks, but so do other schools. If the players come together and if the O-line coaching staff figures out how to maximize the players' skills, we won't have anything to worry about.

Based on eight years of consistent results, our offensive line will be average to above average overall, but the coaching will again fail to maximize the talent. We'll likely lose at least one game that everyone thinks we'll win right now, because of a bad game by the O-line. They've been a factor in all of our inexplicable losses over the past 4 years.

Last year, OL should have been a strength. It wasn't. However, it also wasn't a disaster (maybe the Rutgers game, but not overall). We need this unit to be much better in 2025 to give Lindsey the best opportunity to find his rhythm early in the year and build confidence from day one.

13th B1G ranked O line protecting the 17th B1G ranked QB. Either the Gophers are being underestimated (again) or it is going to be a rough season.

Yep, rankings right now are just complete guesswork sometimes well researched and often not really researched at all.

We have questionmarks to be sure (as you correctly pointed out, most teams do). We lost some key guys, we brought in a bunch of transfers and of course there is the development of young guys as well. We will start to get a sense for how the line will look once camp gets going but in the end we aren't going to really know much until the actual games start and we see who is out there and how they perform.

Probably a little of both. Drake is ranked so low because he hasn't played any meaningful snaps and nobody knows about him. He could blow expectations out of the water, or he could be what everyone thought he was. But with Taylor and Turner, I see P.J. running the ball more than he did last year, and also using them in the short passing game, so Drake is probably only gonna be asked to manage the game for the time being.

OLine on the other hand is a question mark. We don't even know if the players listed are gonna be the ones starting. I'd expect to see Nathan Roy and Brett Carroll at some point, but they just threw up the names of the transfers as starters.
