Besides the Gophers, a few other conference teams were busy on the court in recent days

Iowa, as mentioned, losing to Augustana, 76-74. Augustana won the rebound battle also. http://www.hawkeyesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2015-2016/iowa01.html

Wisconsin over River Falls, 101-46. Illikainen with 19 minutes and Dearring with 16 minutes. http://www.uwbadgers.com/boxscore.aspx?path=mbball&id=315

Ohio State beat Walsh 92-82. This box score blows me away. Matta has absolutely no qualms about heavy minutes. http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2015-2016/110815wu.html

Maryland over Southern New Hampshire 91-55 with a reported attendance of nearly 14,000. Diamond Stone with 16 points in 17 minutes of action. http://www.umterps.com/pdf9/4067313.pdf

Michigan State 94-53 over Northern Michigan. Denzel Valentine with a triple double. http://www.msuspartans.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2015-2016/ex1nmu.html

The Illini defeat University of Illinois at Springfield, 104-69. Around 5,000 attending. 16 points and 9 rebounds in 15 minutes of action for transfer Mike Thorne Jr. http://www.fightingillini.com/boxscore.aspx?path=mbball&id=11328

Thanks for putting this together. Good to see Charlie Hall get into the Northwestern game, but he recorded no stats.

Go Gophers!!

The Badgers beat Northern Iowa 71-57 in a "secret" scrimmage. Game was played in Dubuque.

A few more secret scrimmages

Maryland at Villanova (Villanova won)
Dayton vs Purdue in Indianapolis (Purdue won 84-74)
Xavier vs Illinois in Indianapolis (Xavier by 10 or 12)
Valparaiso at Northwestern
Wyoming at Nebraska (Nebraska 89-67)
Hofstra at Penn State
Rutgers at Layfayette
Bowling Green at Ohio State

Tough getting scores, guess that is why they call them secret.

I love the "claimed attendence" lines. It's like we are reading reports on nuclear capabilities reported by North Korea.

I feel the same way about each of those teams, but must admit, this is going to be a long season, some of those teams are absolutely stacked. We are going to get smoked a few times, I fear, in Big 10.

Nebraska faced Northern State last night in an exhibition and won 95-42. No big deal, but Northern State shot, and I triple checked it to make sure, 1 for 33 behind the arc......most likely a terrible shooting team anyway, as evidenced by their 14-63 on the evening. But man oh man, 1 for 33?!! A screaming 3%

"Diamond Stone" sounds like a character that The Rock would play in an action movie - and talk about himself in the 3rd person.

Yikes. Actually, they're usually decent from 3. Sky Warwick alone has been known to hit 5-6 per game on a regular basis. I only watched the first few minutes. They apparently went 0-fer for the last 35 minutes. They played Augie close twice last year, so I thought might give Nebraska game. Nebraska's not better than Iowa!?!?

Nebraska's not better than Iowa!?!?

Well, most people don't think so and they're probably right, but I think Nebraska is a bit underrated going into this season (unlike last preseason when they were overrated). The transfer from Kansas looks pretty good as do two of their freshmen (Morrow and the kid from Australia).

Thanks Bleed.........Nebraska's size is pretty small with Jake Hammond the tallest at 6'10" but he's not going to get much playing time. Tai, Morrow, Parker, Shields, looked very good as usual, but the frontcourts of Purdue, Maryland, Indiana, Michigan St. look really good this early in the season.

Yeah, it was telling that Matta played Loving and Bates-Diop virtually the whole game against Walsh. Seems like those two, along with Jae'Sean Tate who sat out the exhibition, will play 30 or more minutes a game on average. I believe that many of their freshmen aren't ready to contribute much this season, so they will be relying a lot on the holdovers and may stick to playing 6 or 7 guys for the most part.
