BS. A bunch of people in Nebraska don't like the fact they aren't big fish in this conference, yet anyway. The fact is they were not big fish in the Big12 anymore when they left, that is why they left.
Nobody is going to be a big fish in this conference unless they are a dominant team, and at the moment OSU is the only thing close.

Respectfully, some folks in East Lansing might quibble with "at the moment OSU is the only thing close." At worst, MSU is right there with the Buckeyes at the top of the heap.

Ohio State: 42-10, 26-7 vs. Big Ten opponents, 1 Big Ten championship, 1 divisional championship, Sugar Bowl win, 1-2 in bowl games
Michigan State: 42-12, 26-8 vs. Big Ten opponents, 2 Big Ten championships, 2 divisional championships, Rose Bowl win, 3-1 in bowl games

Or, using the Big Ten's move to a divisional format/championship game as a guide. ...

2011-13
Ohio State: 30-9, 19-6 vs. Big Ten opponents, 1 Big Ten championship, 1 divisional championship, 0-2 in bowl games
Michigan State: 31-10, 19-7 vs. Big Ten opponents, 1 Big Ten championship, 2 divisional championships, Rose Bowl win, 3-0 in bowl games

I'm not going to bother with Wisconsin's numbers in those time periods, but I would imagine the Badgers (with 3 Rose Bowl appearances) could state a case, too.
 

You want to quibble? Be upset about the fact that Nebraska isn't exactly setting the world on fire. Make it to the B10CG and win.....then complain. Until then.....don't be surprised that the national media isn't busting down team doors in order to properly stroke your ego.

All that needs to be said here.....is that the author thinks that the Rutgers and Maryland entrance is significant. Once the season begins.....will anyone really care that much?
 

Welcome to the passive aggressive Nebraska that I have come to know over the past 15+ years.

They smile and are friendly, but underneath, they truly think they are the greatest program to ever exist. To not acknowledge that is simply viewed as someone unfamiliar with the inner workings of college football.

The main thing I took out of this is this columnist (from Nebraska) is acknowledging Nebraska is in the weaker of the two divisions, and that the Huskers need to take advantage of that. His main point being (stated at the end), if Nebraska goes 12-0 and (presumably) wins the BT championship game, no one's gonna' care how they got there (the 4-team CFP).

If anything, he's taking potshots @ Nebraska and how irrelevant the Huskers (and their division) have/will become.

Well that's exactly what happened to Nebraska in the Big 12 North. They were the only power team and all of a sudden they couldn't even win that. Which led to irrelevancy. They are not the only power team in the West. Wisconsin is a bigger program at the moment and Iowa is maybe one rung below Nebraska at the moment. Its not impossible for them to regain their status among the elite teams as Oklahoma did and they had fallen a LONG way before Stoops got there. Personally, I don't care if Michigan and Ohio State are in the other half, I just care about winning Big Ten games no matter who we play...

You had best get the message to Coach Kill and his staff: It is really difficult to win enough Conference Football games to survive at the University of Minnesota, but he MUST find a way. How many is enough? Well, check the record of all the football coaches at the U of M since the 2nd Bierman run that ended in 1950. Then, check to see which coaches were forced out, fired OR left on their own before they were fired. Look at their conference won/loss records. It is ALWAYS critical to win enough Conference games in this job.

In fact, IF a coach has a pretty good year, the heat is always on to win MORE conference Football games starting the very next year. Failing to "get over the hump and on the way to the NEXT level is what this job is all about to a whole lot of media people and fans here on GH. It is impossible to survive without pretty much constant improvement. And, the border battle conference games with iowa and wisky are extremely important. This wisky fiasco is reaching a critical state of disarray, urgency and madness.

In 2014: beat the stinking badger and END the madness that has doomed any coach who has failed to dispatch of that stinking badger and bring the AXE back to Minneapolis too many years in succession. IF a coach has never defeated the stinking badger, he had best find his way to do just that and he had better find his way to beat the stinking badger pretty damn soon.

It's just a fact of life for any Golden Gopher Football Coach... This game means THAT much. Beating the stinking badger and ending the madness will buy all kinds of love, understanding and some more time for a Golden Gopher Football Coach and Staff...

Start chugging Dr. You'll get where you want to be: "...in the bag..." a bit faster that way. So, get drink...drank...drunk. Based upon the way you present yourself, that is really all you ever want. But, remember, you should never drive when you are drinking OR post when you are thinking about drinking.

Dr. Try reading some of your posts sometime. Where was there any kind of decent response to my post that you are claiming? It looks like your typical act of tying to "left hand" someone else to try to get a laugh and then revert to your "town drunk" routine. You document your consumption rate and emphasize how much you enjoy drinking.

Where did I do any more than you do to yourself in my response to the "left handed" slam you so enthusiastically penned and dedicated to me


I have tried ignoring you and the other people who constantly notice and remember and honor me with their attempts to insult me. I suppose I will return to just ignoring the bashers, jerks and stalkers (like this pathetic killjoy adolescent). They could never cause me to change anything with their tactics. Ba$tards never get me down!

But, Dr. you do more to rip yourself and call yourself a drunk than anyone else could ever do. If you describe yourself like the town drunk, why on earth should you be surprised if some one replies to one of your left handed slam-jobs using descriptions that you work so hard trying to portray yourself with?
