Per Travis:

15. Minnesota Golden Gophers – 6-5, 1-1 – Minnesota got taken to overtime by Doug Gottleib and Green Bay, which should be cause for expulsion from the Big Ten at least this year so we can get some more double-play options between good teams. Then they beat a ranked Indiana team. Who knows.

Go Gophers!!

Lot of typos in that article.

Anyway hard to argue against ranking, but I think we have a case for being #14

The four Big Ten teams a legitimate conference title contender absolutely cannot afford a loss to:

Maryland
Minnesota
Penn State
Rutgers

Those are the clear bottom 4. I would consider an argument that Northwestern could be in this group, but I think they can be dangerous as long as they have Martinelli & Page.

So Indiana drops out of contention early!

Is Oregon bad this year?
That's an interesting question. They have talent, experience, and a proven coach, so you would think the answer is no. However, they went 0-5 against non-cupcakes (all top 50-ish, though only one of those was at home) and still have a "neutral" in Portland against Gonzaga this weekend. Their top 3 (Shelstad, Evans, and Bittle) have all been dinged up and each has missed at least a game. Also, Altman's teams notoriously peak later in the season (and the Gophs get them in mid-Feb). My guess is they'll be lower half, but towards the middle of the pack when all is said and done.
