If true, WOW! Usually conferences don't vote teams out. Maybe it is more common at the DIII level, I'm not sure.
Are they giving St Thomas the boot, because they're so much bigger and have so much more money than every else? If so, GOOD. Someone needs to kick them in the nuts to get them thinking about moving to DII, and joining the Northern Sun. Perhaps on the way up to joining DI, but probably far down the road.

If you can’t beat them, kick them out seems to be the message MIAC sending to St. Thomas.
D2 is kind of becoming a wasteland. Down the road I could see St. Thomas in the Big Sky, Missouri Valley, or Summit. Have to have a place for their football program, though.

Northern Sun is a very respectable conf though. Think they’d fit right in.
