BIG Game 14: Gophers host Nebraska, Thursday @7PM

Ugh! Ugly old habits returned, missing layups. Their end of quarter offense too. I hope they can fend off this charge by Nebraska.

Wow. What a highlight shot by Mara Braun!
Answered prayer is more like it. When you're going good, things like that work out. She obviously thought she was going to draw a shooting foul. Since the ref didn't give her the "and one", it's obvious she wasn't going to get the call if it hadn't gone in.

BTW, I thought it was a pretty fairly called game. We got away with some, they got away with some. We shoudda got a couple of calls, so shoudda Neb.

It’s not crazy to think this team could be a top 16 seed. Must beat Wisconsin for that to be on the table. As of tonight that was a quad 1 win giving us four now. Think NET improves too.
I love how everybody seemed to go into panic mode around here when Nebraska made their expected run in the 3rd quarter. It happens in almost every game involving decent teams all over the country every week. It's like people.... Never mind. :)

Last time the gophers won 7 big ten games in a row? This is fun!

Prior to this current 2025–26 streak, the last time the program won at least 7 consecutive Big Ten games in the same season was 2002–03

They did win 7 in a row more recently than that. It overlapped two seasons: from February 2003 (the 2002-03 season) through January 2004 (the 2003-2004 season), a span that covered the end of the 2002-03 season and the beginning of the 2003-04 season.

Oh I was in panic mode myself but I get too nervous lol

it was good to see our first play went through G and she scored RIGHT away..

wish we could have bottled up that 1st half for the 2nd half..

after a slow start Amaya kind of took over had a quite 21 points imho.

5 in double figures and 8 from Tonga.

3rd quarter wasn't great.. that 5-0 to start the 4th was HUGE!

a solid win and ANOTHER game with 80 or more.

The first round of the NCAA Tournament is March 19-20, Second round March 21-22. The MSHSL Girls Tournament is March 11-14 at Williams Arena. The MSHSL Boys Tournament is March 24-28 at Williams Arena but March 24 games are at Target Center. So they scheduled the HS Tournaments around the possibility of our Gophers hosting the first two rounds.

Selection Sunday is March 15th.

with our win.. we tie the record for most wins in a row in conference season with 7...

last time it happened

2002-2003 Pam Borton's 1st year as HC..

Shimmy Miller on the BIG10 call tonight. She was part of the poor Whalen coaching staff that got fired before Coach P took the job. Miller was a failed coach at almost all her stops. Glad he spouse was able to find her a job in broadcasting. She's pretty good at it. Much better than coaching.
That phrase didn't match what I heard tonight :ROFLMAO: in any way!

No kidding! it was brutal listening to her continue to talk Nebraska basketball throughout the game, acknowledging the gophers a few times, and making a few strange (really, more than a few) comments throughout... and she had little insight into really anything the whole broadcast, but showed much love for NE. I haven't watched too many women's games on the B1G Network, but are the announcers for the women's games ALL this bad, and so blatantly biased for their team?

EDIT: It was a complete Gopher win. They played very well overall. Made the shots at the end to keep nebby far enough back and put them away at the very end. Really wasn't in doubt once they made it 40-19. Got a little hectic a few times but each time they took control again.

Very solid W!!
