Sadly this is GOLDEN GOPHER FOOTBAlLL in a nutshell...we are not allowed to have nice things
 

It's life as a Gopher fan. It's how we live. We don't get special things. We get slightly above average every 10 years.
 


Guys, we can build on this. It was a great game and we came up short.
 






Build on what the game was lost because of the coaches the players wanted it and it showed.
 

I've shifted from speechless to having goosebumps from the shock. Unreal.

BS This was a very well coached game. We should be screaming about the stinker that was the Nebraska game.
 

As one student said as we were all walking out..."This is Gopher Football. Get used to it".

Yeah. Boy, they would love to have that one back. The Gophers are a better team than Nebby. They aren't better than Meatchicken, but they were better tonight and that's the shame in all this.

We should be used to this by now as the Gophers are the masters of snatching defeat from the hands of victory. The time management errors were junior high level FB. If this was a job interview for HC I would keep looking.....

For 59 minutes and 40 seconds it was a well coached game, but the critical 20 seconds at the end sank it. You have to coach a full 60 minutes to win.

Why? We are going to lose out the season. I don't see the players buying in to this "new" staff that hangs them out to dry for the critical 20 seconds as the clock ticked away from win to a loss.

We should just cancel the rest of the season and close down this forum.
 


How many different ways can we figure out how to kick ourselves in the nuts?
 

Cripes, we get blown off the field and lose by double digits and the response is "meh". We nearly pull a huge upset, can't convert on a few critical plays and it's Hiroshima.

I'm incredibly encouraged by what I saw tonight. 21 point dogs according to the advanced stats models.
 

We were 13 point underdogs

The coaches got us in a position to win the game. Michigan has the #1 defense in college football...we moved the ball!
We made plays in this game! The defense got it done when they most needed to.
We had poor execution and poor strategy in the last 19 seconds.
Hopefully, everybody learns and we move forward.
We definitely played improved football. We just didn't finish it.

Honestly, one of the most devastating moments I've experienced as a sports fan

Awful way to lose a game, especially considering that this was really necessary to close out in regards to making it to a bowl

Going to be very ugly the next two weeks....Illinois is bad so hopefully and we haven't beat Wisconsin in forever...How is that encouraging?
