I have virtually no explanation for this one.

The line for the Gophers-Trojans game opened up in Vegas at USC (-20).

That line has PLUMMETED all the way to as low as USC (-12.5) at the Hilton, -13 at most other places.

Granted, USC has not looked outstanding so far this year but holy crap. That's a lot of money being placed on a team that lost to South Dakota.

That's alot of points to give Gophers. Gophers will be playing with extra motivation to show last week game was fluke. USC probably looks past Gophers. Playing at home and getting points makes this a no brainer. Gophers all the way.

I hope we do great. But what a terrible matchup for the gophers. Is it my imagination or is their strength our weakness? How are we not going to get lit up. Or is there alot more faith in our offense than I think there is?

I think we'll cover, but I'm going against reason.

LVSC

I believe -20 was an error & -13 or 13.5 was the correct opener.

The (-20) was the reported "opening line" by the LVSC, Las Vegas Sports Consultants; that's not necessarily the opening line by any particular casino. The LVSC opening line is used by some casinos as their baseline, not by all of them.

Yesterday was the first I looked and I saw 13 and 13.5 at the major casinos. Now it's down to 12.5 and 13, although another site I looked at reported the Hilton as having 11.5 as of this morning.

the line dropped because the men of troy decided to take the week off from football to study and attend classes as a loss to our gmen on Saturday is akin to a snowball reaching the gates of hell

USC -13 or 14 is a tough one to lay off. The Men of Troy have been largely unimpressive in their first two games just like the Gophers, but I have to believe the Trojans will put up a minimum of 38 on the Gophers. That means do you think the Gophers will score 24? I think no. I'd give the points and take USC.

I'm sensing a lot of parallels between Kansas/NDSU/GT and the Gophers/USD/USC.

their margin of victory depends solely on how long kiffin plans to play his starters and backups before 3rd stringers come in, if its any considerable length of time i would take USC to cover

Kiffen will pound it for all it's worth, he was rejected by the Gophers for Brewster, plus he's being investigated for recruiting violations at Tenn

Is this what you would have written before last week?

Interesting tidbit of information:

Just heard them briefly mention the game on the local sportsbook radio. USC has been outgained in yardage, not just in their last two games (this year), but if you go back to last year, they've been outgained in their last 5 games in a row.

The oddsmakers on the radio said USC "could run into some trouble up in Minnesota".

I think there will be some points scored, no doubt about it.
