Look at how small this squad was! But there they are with Floyd of Rosedale, The Axe and the Little Brown Jug. What a season. How long will it be before we see that happen in this era?

Gonna be a little hard to replicate that photo considering we don't get another chance to win the jug until 2012.....

Great photo. Good to see Roger Hagberg #36 who had played at Rochester High. He died in 1970, got hit by a car near a Bay Area night club. I see that he is the answer to a trivia question - Who is the first player to have played in both the Grey Cup and Super Bowl? http://www.conigliofamily.com/CanadianFootballLeague.htm

2011. 11/5/11- that's when Michigan is on the schedule again. But it will be the 2012 team that gets pictured with all three (and a National Championship Trophy).

That photo hangs on the wall next to my basement bar, or Gopher Shrine as my UW Alum neighbor calls it (I like to remind him that team won our 6th NC, although as a UW fan, he wouldn't know about those). Bought a copy on eBay a few years ago. The thing was old and dog-eared, but it matted and framed up like a champ. My 6 and 3 year old both immediately identified the Axe, Jug and Pig. My 6 year old has pix with me with the Pig and Jug, we'll get that Axe picture soon too... Anyway, that picture sits next to my framed 1960 Rose Bowl Pennant, Program, Ticket and "Fiz Says...Squash Wash" pin. We need to pass our history down, just like my dad did for me. Gopher shrines are good!
