Besides the Gophers who do you cheer for?

I used to love Maryland when they were in the ACC. The Joe Smith teams got me hooked. Now, not so much.

Clemson. I'm going to be moving to SC next year because I have family down there and they're big Clemson fans. They're also within an hour of Clemson.

McNeese. I love the culture Will Wade has made. They are really tough defensively.
Won 30 games last year. Took Alabama down to the wire this year. Currently leading #25 Mississippi State. Plus they have a really cool nickname: The Bayou Bandits.

I grew up on Big East basketball in the mid 80s. Loved Georgetown, but loved St John's even more.

"Cheer" is definitely not a word I would use to describe any team but MN. That being said, I do keep an eye on my two alma maters: KU and San Diego State and I also keep an eye on GCU since I live in Phoenix now and their atmosphere is fantastic.

But no way would I ever cheer for any of those teams. Ski-U-Mah for life.

Go Gophers!!

Indiana, grew up in the state, Ole Miss, grad school. Western Michigan, undergrad. Also follow the Drew family (GCU and Baylor) since attending their camps as a young lad.

I have relatives around Kalamazoo. Saw Crosby, Stills, & Nash at the old Kalamazoo Wings arena back in the day.

Arizona - Nephew went there
UMD - Sister's undergrad
St. Thomas - Sister's grad plus, I have known coach Tauer since he was a freshman at CDH.
My other sister knows I will never root for her alma mater (that school to the east).

Seriously? You went to school and graduated from KU and you would never cheer for them? How is that possible? Thee best game day experience of any of the three schools you mention let alone quite possibly in college BB.

I also worked for the basketball department for 2 years (junior and senior years)...I was there for the last part of the Vaughn/LaFrentz/Pierce era and the start of the Gooden/Collison/Heinrich era.

Had a chance to interview Roy 1:1 just he and I in his office, interviewed Dean Smith over the phone when he was at UNC, took pics in the locker room when Wilt came back after 50 years, etc.

Freshman year Joel P took a visit to KU, he was basically down to MN and KU. I had a sign that said "Minnesota Loves You Joel!" - he smiled at me, Matt Dougherty glared at me.

But I "bleed" Gopher. A lifetime of being a MN fan doesn't change despite 4 years in Lawrence.

I understand. Life long Minny guy here as well. Daughter graduated from KU so I'm now hooked. She loved it there so much she got married, works at a law firm and has become a MASSIVE Chiefs fan. LOL

I’ve never had one specific “other” team, but usually there are other interesting teams that crop up every year, Drake is a great example this year. Kevin Durant at Texas, Sam Cassel and Bob Sura at FSU were wild. I definitely have a long list of teams I don’t like.

I'm an alumnus of South Dakota State and IU, so both of them. SDSU might be my best team this year. :/

Northwestern, my grandfather played ball for them and we used get tickets when NU came to the Barn every year.
Kansas, my oldest cousin went to KU and and got me a KU basketball T-shirt for Christmas when I was about 10. Been a fan since.

Arizona State. Minnesota native now living in Arizona.
