I like him a lot but I don't believe anyone will consistently finish in the top half of power 5 conferences consistently without competitive NIL.Lot of reports suggesting it is true. One that is behind a paywall that says maybe not.
I do know I don't like it. I believe Iowa will instantly be in the upper portion of the conference standings if true. NIL money or NIL money.

With how they were able to sweep captain Kirk's racism under the rug this will be nothing for them.Again, this Iowa team will have to spin this hire in today’s DEI demanding media. Nice knowing ya Iowa!
Iowa was stoked about Lickliter and Fran coming.Gophers really cannot blow it. Iowa moves directly from Fran to McCollum......
It's 9am on the morning after the presumed next coach lost out of the tourney. You need to relax and get over yourself. Again, you typed a lot to explain how silly you are.We currently do not have any updates regarding a new hire—if we did, it would have been announced. The timing of the recent coaching termination, occurring in the early hours of the morning, might understandably lead some to assume that a replacement would be named promptly. One might expect that significant efforts would have been made to secure a top candidate swiftly, particularly with potential coaches becoming available during this stage of tournament play. However, no announcements today suggest a lack of immediate progress.
Given the circumstances, it would have been prudent to release a statement acknowledging the ongoing search and assuring fans that the process to find a coach dedicated to making Minnesota basketball great is underway. Unfortunately, there is no such communication at this time, leaving the impression that public relations efforts are lacking. It is essential for leadership to engage transparently and keep the community informed during such pivotal moments. Our AD, Mr. Coyle is not known for aggressively courting public opinion and support. Today it is more evident than before.
I ignored a while ago. Now you’re tempting me to unignore just to verify the neurosis. It's 9am on the morning after the presumed next coach lost out of the tourney. You need to relax and get over yourself. Again, you typed a lot to explain how silly you are.
Edit: I just saw your other post in the Niko thread. My God, buddy.
It's actually well worth the read. It's a couple of posts of very well thought out complete bullshit.I ignored a while ago. Now you’re tempting me to unignore just to verify the neurosis.

McCollum is 43 and Medved is 51.....so potential there for both of them to lead their respective programs for a long time. Gotta think this is a dream college job for both guys so unless they have NBA aspirations there is a good chance they will stay as long as possible at their new locations.McCullum to Iowa and Medved to MN make perfect sense. It's where they are both from and the jobs they wanted. Don't think McCullum would have left Drake for MN nor Medved CSU for Iowa.
Weird. The first word that came out from Iowa was a cryptic tweet that came out an hour ago followed by official word 45 minutes later. Drake lost on SATURDAY.
Colorado State lost last night and the U will announce by early afternoon today.
Just bookmarked by first post on GHSigh... Beaten by Iowa yet again.
How so? Both schools didn't hire Will Wade and thus failed. Right?!?!Sigh... Beaten by Iowa yet again.
