For those who don't know, Brust is a 2010 6'2" SG from Mundelein, IL who had signed with Iowa. With the coaching change, he asked for and received a release from his LOI. He has apparently received a great deal of interest in the two days since his release:

"Every mid-major in the country would want a kid like that. Among high-majors there's Wisconsin, California, Iowa, Boston College, Colorado, Nebraska, Wake Forest.

"Minnesota said they're going to, but I'll wait for Tubby (Smith). Northwestern, I believe, will. He's going to have a ton."

UW needs very badly to add a guard, so it does not surprise me that they have shown interest. They now have an opening with Ian Markolf's departure, so the UW staff may make a big push for Brust. Sounds like a number of other solid programs are doing the same.

Sorry, I posted this in the Cobbs thread as well.

"After fielding over a dozen offers from mid-major schools hoping to catch Brust on the rebound, high-majors are coming in starting Friday night. Boston College and new head coach Steve Donahue will be in to visit with Brust on Friday night, followed by Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan on Saturday, Cal coach Mike Montgomery on Sunday and Tubby Smith and Minnesota on Monday. Both Wake Forest and Northwestern are also in the mix as they sort things out on the recruiting front."

It sounds like Brust is more of a combo guard than a true point. How quick is he?

Yeah, he is listed as a point on Rivals, a Combo on Scout, and a SG on ESPN. I really know nothing about him though.

His shot is kinda ugly, but looks like he makes a ton of em.
