Don’t think there is much chance to be ranked. We do not appear in the “others receiving votes” in the latest poll, and I don’t see a road win at Rutgers jumping us up over 10 or more teams.I voted Wisconsin, but would be thrilled at winning either game. We'll have a decent chance at both games.
Side note- any chance of Gameday coming back if we beat Rutgers? Penn State will likely be 9-1 and ranked around 5th, we'll definitely crack the rankings at 7-3...
Haven't checked other games around the country that day but seems possible...

Unless there is a real shock when the playoff rankings come out later this week.
The card said soGotta go for two on this one...
Hard to say if Gameday would come back to dinkytown. Indiana v Ohio state and the Pac-2 championship is also the same day. Both are storylines that could merit a Gameday visit.I voted Wisconsin, but would be thrilled at winning either game. We'll have a decent chance at both games.

Plus ND-Army that day as well I see.Hard to say if Gameday would come back to dinkytown. Indiana v Ohio state and the Pac-2 championship is also the same day. Both are storylines that could merit a Gameday visit.
It would be more likely to get Big Noon Kickoff for the Penn State game. Fox's show will be scheduled for Columbus 3 times already this year so maybe they would pass on having 4 Buckeye home games.
Wouldn't whatever it did for the program would be evaporated a week later if we lost to an unranked team?As much as I want the Axe back and to beat the skunks. I think beating Penn State, a likely top 8 team, would do more for the program than beating Wisconsin would.
If we lost to a bottom feeder team like Northwestern or Purdue I'd agree, or if it was a home game against a middling team like Nebraska, I would agree too. But we're playing Wisconsin (a decent team) on the road, in the biggest rivalry game of the season for both teams. I personally don't think that a loss in these circumstances change the upward trajectory of the program following a big time upset of Penn State.Wouldn't whatever it did for the program would be evaporated a week later if we lost to an unranked team?
