If you could pick one of these wins for the Gophers this season, which would you choose?
  • Penn State - Top 10 opponent, senior day, do another field rush, get a nationally splashy win
  • wisconsin - it's wisconsin, it's the Axe.

I would love to have both, and I want the Axe, but in the question posed I would take the Penn State win.

I'm weighting how it's a home game and I'll be there as part of it. Big nationally televised win against a top 10 team, knock them out of playoff, potential 6 game Big Ten winning streak for the first time since at least the 60s. Do a field rush, get the Bell back. It will be a party!

Gophers would get ranked assuming they also beat Rutgers. Would possibly line the Gophers up for a NYD-level bowl game (though in our scenario they lose the following week)

As much as I want the Axe back and to beat the skunks. I think beating Penn State, a likely top 8 team, would do more for the program than beating Wisconsin would.

It is an interesting question but if the Gophers continue to play well and keep getting better the question becomes irrelevant. I will take the axe over the bell.

Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The question said pick one to win and nothing about the other. I pick Penn State and think if we win that we have a strong shot at beating Wisconsin the next week, especially if you add a win at Rutgers and we're on a 6 game winning streak.

We play Wisconsin every year and I feel confident we are not going to go on another long losing streak against them.....so as much as it would suck to lose to Wisconsin.....Penn State is the easy choice here for me.

Opportunities to beat a legit top 10 team at home don't come around all that often. That would be a massive win for the program and hopefully one that would take place in front of another packed house.

Super tough question. I plan to be at both games, and my gut tells me I would rather go 8-4 with the axe than 8-4 with what would be seen as a choke loss against a hated rival. Especially if it means stripping the BADgers of a bowl berth.

As the political candidates are fond of saying: "Great question." But, I do think it is.
Naturally, I'm in the minority. I pick Penn State for all the reasons you state and just because Franklin is more unlikable than the Wisconsin coach.
Like to win both.
Happy to win either one.

I pick Penn State as the one I'd most like to beat. They've been so smug and I think that win gives us a huge boost. Winning both would make me the happiest.

I voted Wisconsin, but would be thrilled at winning either game. We'll have a decent chance at both games.

Side note- any chance of Gameday coming back if we beat Rutgers? Penn State will likely be 9-1 and ranked around 5th, we'll definitely crack the rankings at 7-3...

Haven't checked other games around the country that day but seems possible...
