MN is 112th...actually higher than I thought they would be. The game with USC bumped up their SOS I guess?

Good to see that WI has no shot and is even behind Boise St. Their weak SOS has come back to bite them.

This shouldn't be released until after the conference title games. I guess it's good for the economy.

The Badgers will jump Boise if both teams win out. Wisconsin has @MSU @OSU @Illinois and vs. PSU coming up, plus the CCG if we win the division. Boise plays TCU. That's it. Wisconsin will jump Boise, probably next week actually, if we beat MSU.

OSU play OU.

LSU plays Bama.

There's two guaranteed losses to teams above us. Wisconsin has a very legit shot at the title game.

Georgia keeps winning. Boise's drubbing of the probable SEC East Champion looks very good for them.

Not much the Badgers can do about the weak conference teams like the Hoosiers, Purdue or Gophers. One computer has the Badgers ranked 17th, Another has the Huskers ahead of the Badgers, another has a 2 loss team ahead. Really? It's sad when the haters can only resort to dragging all others down to the same pathetic level. Would it not be good for all conference teams to have a team in the title game? This is why a PLUS ONE format settles it. #1 bcs plays #4, #2 plays #3 in whatever BCS bowl and the winners play one more game for the title. If You end up #5 in the final rankings, oh well.

So all SEC teams have not had easier recruiting due to the respect gained from SEC teams in the title game? Great logic!

I don't think Vandy has seen a significant improvement from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Florida's success. Sorry.

ha! what a little joker this guy is! :D

I could see Stanford or Clemson jump Wisconsin. Actually Wisconsin is closer to 8th in the standings than 5th. Clemson and Stanford both have pretty good schedules down the stretch to further impress the pollsters and computers. Also don't underestimate the idea that voters might want to see Andrew Luck in the Championship game if given the possibility. They won't have Stanford jump and undefeated LSU/Alabama and Oklahoma but if it's down to 3 unbeaten teams and those teams lets say are Alabama, Wisconsin, and Stanford, I think the human nature of the Harris and USAToday pollsters give Stanford a bump and put the most hyped QB in a long time in the Championship game.

I think Boise St won't last long in the top 4 and I also don't see an upset this year so the defacto Plus-1 is LSU v Alabama and Oklahoma vs Okla St.

This HORRENDOUS year for the Big Ten, coupled with Wisky's scheduling, is not doing Wisky any favors. It's quite possible that after the Michigan State game next week, Wisky won't play a ranked team the rest of the season.

I think we'll know more about the BT in the next several weeks. Even with how surprisingly undisciplined MSU looked against Michigan last Saturday, I still think they'll give Wisky all they want and more. Wisky has yet to leave Madison this year and MSU has arguably already played TWO teams better than anybody Wisky has played (considering Nebraska is a tad overrated currently).

I also think the Buckeyes will not just roll over for Wisky but who knows. At the end of the day, they're still going with a true FR QB.

Does anybody else think Russell Wilson saved Wisky from an 8-4 season? What an incredibly fortunate turn of events that turned out to be....

That's not a good comparison. The SEC has won the last five BCS Championships. Even with that, it hasn't helped Vandy or Kentucky. A better comparison would be the Big 12. I don't see Oklahoma's or Texas' success helping the Iowa St. or Kansas programs.

You're retarded if you think your badgers have a very legit shot at the title game. It would be a near miracle for them to get in. OSU/OU and LSU/Bama are the deciding games to the national championship, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It would be miraculous if another team besides those 4 got in.

Use that common knowledge along with the fact that wisconsin had one of the worst, if not the worst, complete schedules of all the BCS schools. Teams like Boise State, Clemson and Stanford will all jump Wisconsin by years end if they finish undefeated. Wisconsin might jump back over Boise if they win the B1G conference championship, but I find it just about impossible for them to get in. Have fun wishing your jacka$$ of an AD scheduled better teams

Maybe since New Mexico State is 3-3, the loss looks less bad than it did at the time. Still bad, just less bad.

I hate the Badgers as much as the next guy, but to say it would be miraculous is stupid. Yes, they'll need some help but it could happen. Stanford still has to play Oregon. Clemson has been very inconsistent. It's not sure thing that both Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. will be undefeated when they match up in the last week of the season.

Salvation for our season...........Bucky's ranking will drop after they play us :)

The Big 10 isn't really that bad. The bottom 3 are horrendous, but there are 5 ranked teams and a 6th that's 6-1. There are 3 ranked teams in the Pac-12. There are 6 in the SEC. 4 in the Big 12.

Uhhh, yeah... Because the pollsters are the ultimate deciding factor in who's good and who's not. Recall Brewster's Gophers being ranked in his second year a few years ago when they got out of the gate 7-1?

Nebraska - mediocre QB at best and they have no threat of a passing game. One of the most overrated teams in the country at the start of the season. They struggled to beat Fresno ST at home and gave up 38 points to Washington, also at HOME.
Michigan - one-dimensional team, but with at least an improving defense
Illinois - Dropped the ball by not beating a depleted OSU team last week, at home.
Penn State - PSU is ranked? Yikes... that should tell you all you need to know. They struggled to beat Purdue, at HOME

The Big Ten is just plain substandard this year. Period. It's hard to dispute that. We'll know a lot more about the BT in 2-3 weeks. The Wisky-MSU game this weekend should be good. October 22 for Wisky's first true road game, should be an interesting game.

And as far as the Pac-10 only having 3 ranked teams; I would put two of those teams ahead of any of the Big Ten teams at this point (Stanford and Oregon) and Arizona State is not far behind.

Here's how I largely gauge whether or not a conference is having a substandard season; what kind of season are the annual heavyweights having? In the BT, OSU is going through it's darkest season in decades; Nebraska was overrated to start the season, has a one-dimensional QB who has regressed, and has played most of the season with their best defensive player (Crick) injured and who is now done; Michigan has a new coaching staff and is still feeling their way around; Penn State graduated a ton of people and it's yet to be seen how good they are or will be.

If your conference heavyweights are having mediocre to substandard seasons, face the facts. The conference is DOWN.

Settle down. Ohio St. will most likely be 6-6 or 7-5 this season and make a bowl game. They could even win 8 or 9 in the regular season if things fall their way. They are actually performing right at their predicted track, as they've lost one in which they were the favorite (MSU) and won one in which they weren't (Illinois). They are down (and I agree with your overall point that the Big Ten is down), but it's not their darkest season in decades. They were 6-6 in 1999 and 7-5 in 2001.

Washington has 1 loss and is ranked.

You say Oregon and Stanford are ahead of all B1G teams and Arizona State's not far behind. Guess what? Illinois beat Arizona State.

Without the pollsters, how are you deciding who's good? You've watched 50 teams in multiple games this year? Or do you want to go by the computers?

How will we know more about the Big 10 in the next couple of weeks? I can tell you right now the Big 10's record over the next 3 weeks will be .500.

So only traditional heavyweights qualify a conference? You mean like USC? Or perhaps you mean Tennessee, the 2nd all time winningest SEC team.

How long is it going to take before you realize that you're being played? Keep up the good work, trying to defend your team though. At least it's entertaining....

More Badger insecurity. It never gets old.

Baylor and Kansas State are nice stories, but Oklahoma and OSU would have to throw up all over themselves to lose to either. It would take a major, major upset for there to be any drama whatsoever surrounding who will play in the BCS title game.

With that in mind, I would think Sconnie fans would prefer to see Stanford remain undefeated to set up a matchup of unbeatens in the Rose Bowl and a chance to finish #2.
