Is there any chance they’ll be picked?
 

Maybe the Lynx will pick one of them on the 3rd round.
 



By my count, 8 Big 10 players drafted. 6 of them were from UCLA.
Also noticed 4 Kentucky players drafted. (1 in 2nd rd, 3 in 3rd)
Draw conclusions at your own peril.
 









I think Braun is athletic enough. She seemed to be getting her quickness back later in the season after becoming recovered from her injury.
 

Braun has never been able to take anyone off the dribble with quickness IMO.. if she does beat someone off the dribble she struggles with physically to finish… ball handling when she is pressured not a strength… and up to this point she has never been a good three point shooter… Big year for her nice if she can make one on the all conference teams..
 

It’s not because she can’t take someone off the dribble it’s because she hasn’t chosen to do it for some reason. She needs to get more aggressive and stronger. As an indication of her quickness she led the team in steals and had a lot of blocks for her size. She had a 90% free throw percentage and I’m sure her overall shooting will pick up. She has the tools she just needs to make better use of them.

She seems very reluctant to take contact. I've thought this for her entire career -- she could/should be shooting a LOT more free throws.

Yes, I agree. It looks to me like she is trying to draw fouls, but kind of semi-flopping when she gets hit instead of trying to make the basket. Go stronger to the hole and make the refs make the calls, be more aggressive.
Maybe she is still trying to get over the injuries mentally and this will be the year.
 

Braun is a great 3-point shooter when she is wide open; however, she is not a good 3-point shooter with someone in her face and she is not good at creating her space.
 


Battle has agreed to a training camp contract. It won't be easy to make the roster, especially since the Lynx picked point guard Olivia Miles in the draft, but I'm glad she'll have a chance to prove herself in the W.

"Braun is a great 3-point shooter when she is wide open" you and I can see that but evidently the coaches cannot. Our offense does nothing to get her open looks. She's not good at beating someone off the dribble....she is quick enough imo...just hasn't been taught how. Set some screens for, have some offensive actions that create open looks. Teach her how to finish at the rim...these things are teachable...no signs it's happening.

This year is maybe her best chance since various bench pieces have left, and now there are two developmental spots on the roster.

That is what the WNBA is looking for, one-on-one basketball.
I'm hoping one of the the reasons Mara doesn't try to take people off the dribble is she wants to play more team ball, keep everyone involved, better for the team.
I'm not sure the WNBA agrees with that approach but that seems to be what the WNBA is looking to find. The NBA is even worse.
Me...I like team ball. Anybody, everybody scores.

Lynx play great team ball. The ball moves side to side they get open shots because they share…

The game is actually about shooting and making shots not one on one… actually Mara’s struggles to shoot so to my point…

Mara is more athletic than Kneepkens… but Kneepkeens is stronger more physical and an elite shooter… tougher player that’s the difference between being drafted and not.. Kneepkens is way more of a shot maker not close
 

Hoping Sophie Hart catches on with a Australian league team or gets a chance to play in China. She can still make a pro payday, and travel.

This Athletic writer lightly disagrees. She has Braun as one of the top 25 (note at bottom of story) for a very early look at next year's draft.

It reminds me a bit when so many people were surprised that Kate Martin got drafted out of Iowa and is still playing in the WNBA. But League GMs and coaches are often looking for the intangibles besides the stat sheets. Sure you have to be athletic enough but Cori Close said it best when giving kudos to Kiki Rice, "she knows what to do to win and just does it and that's what WNBA teams are looking for..." Not comparing Martin and Braun's style of play. Just that WNBA teams are often looking at things the public isn't.
 

Kate Martin’s numbers her senior were really good in all areas plus she is tough as hell.. GM’s looked at a combo of talent and intangibles.. if Braun can have an efficient senior year like Martin’s numbers I will take it.. and show some grit like Martin ..Braun will get drafted… ☝️☝️☝️
